    I've a growing interest for poetry and appreciate a good quatrain of any sort. I'd like to widen my repertoire and I'm sure there are plenty of people here that are heavy-weights on this topic.

     So why not have this thread as a big compiler of quatrains or poems, either by known poets, a friend, yourself, whatever. The only condition here is that you think it is good and that you can relate to it in some way.

    So since I'm starting I'll go cheap and run for Omar Khayyam:

    "Did God set grapes a-growing, do you think,
    And at the same time make it sin to drink?
    Give thanks to Him who foreordained it thus--
    Surely He loves to hear the glasses clink!"

    I'll give it a shot,here's " God " :

    Where are you ?
    No matter what I do
    I just can't see you
    Anywhere
    They said you were there
    That you care
    I praised you day and night
    I followed your shining light
    But I found myself in total darkness
    I don't feel anything but sadness
    I just can't understand you
    Your words get me confused
    Where is the truth ?
    The old,the new or the last book
    They said you put a veil on my heart
    That you knew from the start
    Why,O Why would you tear us apart ?
    I know even if I behaved well
    If I don't believe in you I'll end up in hell
    You're supposed to love us like a mother loves her child
    What,What is the purpose of life ?
    Worshiping you,doing good and not telling lies
    So we can get a place in heaven in the afterlife
    While our loved ones are being punished in hell on the other side

    Here's my poem entitled:

    'Where did God go?'

    I am One,
    The Merciful reveals,
    To His Prophet,
    The Final Seal,

    I am One,
    The God declares,
    Spread My Word,
    Here and there,

    Where is he?
    The people ask,
    Maybe he sleeps,
    It's too dark!

    A solitary prayer,
    The Prophet makes,
    For a miracle,
    Silently he waits,

    Oh God above,
    Where were you?
    Torn Prophet prostrates,
    Mind succumbs too,

    Eyes are shut
    Light grows dim.
    God's voice calls,
    He whispers within,

    I am One,
    The Merciful reveals,
    Trickery of mind,
    I lay concealed,

    I am One,
    I am You,
    The Final Seal,
    The God too.

    That one's for you Quod mate!

    It does however have the positive sides, that you need not be polite during, and cuddling is not expected afterwards.

    The flies and halitosis detracts a bit though...

    Cuddling is preferred over sex, personally speaking.

    We Wear The Mask

    We wear the mask that grins and lies,
