So I got into this argument, i try to avoid arguments with any kind of religious person because I understand they believe strictly on faith, and reject any kind of proof. But this particular argument I couldn't slide. Preaching to Muslim and non-Muslim audiences that Islam is the first monotheistic religion, and there is no such thing as Judaism and Christianity. Everything is Islam. That really really boils my blood. Why? Well how you feel if you wrote a book and someone else copied it later, claiming that theirs was better, and yours was just a mock-up made specifically for them. Speaking from a cultural perspective that's just not fair. That's like saying Native American culture isn't 'their' culture it's 'American' that just happened to be practiced first before the settles showed up.
So naturally I bring up that Judaism and Christianity came first (and not even they really came first, but I present these as my arguments since these are more widely known and still practiced). And Two Muslims (I assume), refer to me as 'the Christian' in a condescending manner. In fairness I am an ex-Christian, but seriously I'm insulted >:[ Seriously does any one else debate Muslims? Or do they just focus on Christianity since Christians top them globally and are in direct competition for brainwashing the masses. Naturally I think everything is BS, but I still respect the mythos behind Abrahamic religions and I don't think it's fair that any culture gets their ideas ripped off, by another culture, then claims that the previous one never really existed or contributed.
Like imagine some asshole decides to rewrite, Greek mythos, or Egyptian mythos and adds like space ships, or zombies to spruce it up for the modern era. Seriously fuck that, and screw the Quran for not even giving an inkling of credit to the past cultures for pretty much laying the foundation of its existence. I don't care if it's true or not, that Noah fit every fucking animal in his tiny boat just stop preaching that it was your original idea when it was around thousands of thousands of years later. Christians and Judaism stole their stories as well but Islam has little claim to go around preaching that it's theirs, since the Quran was written after both of them, I often use Christianity and Judaism as examples because those are religions people know and practice.
