He went in there to lose. What a massive disappointment. If he's burned out or wants something else from life, he can still go out fighting.

Are you saying that he threw the fight?

Well, obviously he threw the fight. He was clowning around and didn't take it seriously at all. He offered Weidman his chin. I think the only reason Weidman didn't just knock him out sooner was he assumed Silva was just taunting and was wary of a counter. Silva is known for clowning around. But that was something else. That was just stupidity. I seriously reckon he's having some kind of breakdown. His interviews are getting stranger. Silva land is cuckoo land.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

The only thing in which might discount this idea is that Silva has lost to a bum like Daiju Takase before, in pretty embarrassing fashion. I don't really think this guy's head has really ever been screwed fully straight.

Silva vs. Takase was a good clean fight. Silva was focussed, aggressive, pressing forward, and was great defending on the ground. Takase was just better on the ground and had the dominant position for most of it. Takase still had to work to win that fight, though, and eventually got a good submission. I see nothing for Silva to be embarrassed about. Unless losing a fight in itself is cause for embarrassment.

Problem is you don't wanna lose to bums. Also, despite your reading of that match, I think Silva looked really poor and didn't really attempt to execute any gameplan. You can certainly say he's come a long way since then though, so I guess it isn't too demonstrative of anything.

    Another exciting fighter, Brandon Thatch

"Take those butterflys and make sure they are flying in formation." I love that.

Unblemished record apart from one split-decision loss. Talented fighter. Clean, precision Muai Tai. Smart takedowns. Excellent control on the ground. Great manner, attitude and work ethic.

I mean look at this, he doesn't even get touched here:

Just picks him apart. He needs to be fighting in a big organisation. Needs to get recognition.

Fantastic UFC debut from this guy at the weekend. Won the knockout of the night. Good to see him break into the big league and deliver. Excited to see what his future holds.

Don't know much about MMA but I reckon this guy is seriously strong.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XE-l4P_6zE

Watch from 3 20. Basically he gets out of a police car, with two policemen blocking him and one it seems handcuffed to him, he then drags the handcuffed 13 stone policeman around like a rag doll (how did he think he was going to get away!) while punching/avoiding the fifteen stone policeman. There is a bit, later on after the event when one officer involved meets another at the station, for the cameras so to speak, and you can hear the conversation revolves around how strong the assailant was.

I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

^ That's my hometown. That guy was very strong and there's plenty more like him. Feel sorry for that police man. It can be a tough place to police here and gun and drug crime are on the rise.

    Explosive strength for sure.

At the 7 minute mark.  Is that a common hijabi attire in the UK?

As for last night's event, Gustafsson is a legit viking.

Fight of the year. Gustafsson has a chin of iron. And that's the first time Jones has ever been hurt.

Nice. Hope u have lots of fun.  I just looked at the card and I noticed that I don't recognize most of the names anymore.  Guess I'll be pulling for Machida, Guillard and Cole Miller.

     Reply #114 - October 22, 2013, 04:33 PM

I don't recognise some of them either. Still, Machida is one of the most interesting fighters fighting right now. It'll be good to see him in the flesh. I'm not too bothered about the fillers. Though, the unknowns on the card often grab the fight of the night.

Some can be excused as being too strong, others too big.  For Machida though, it'll always be skill and technique, which is why I really enjoy his fights.  Speaking of fight of the night, did you the last event?  Diego Sanchez really made me question my manhood... until he started slurring his words during the interview.   Dos Santos too.  Even though he spoke fine, it felt really bad seing him take that beating again.  Can't be too god for their long term health.
