For any Bollywood fans out there from which two classic movies are the following lines from?
'Love is life.'and
'Love is friendship'.Anyway, 'love' like all social constructions is an attempt to sanctify human relationships, transcend mundane emotions and attach greater significance to a person/object, which when reflected upon is more than they ever deserved.
I also once heard that 'love is like a butterfly' .
Asking what is love is objectivating a feeling, emotion, perception. There 'is' no love anymore than there 'is' hate or anger or fear. These are words we associate with degrees of feeling.
Rather than ask
'what is love?' we should ask '
is there such a thing as love to begin with?' or better yet
'why love?' by which I mean why is it that we come to believe in the concept of love and form attachments with one another based upon symbolic interaction associated with cryptic language and how did this social construct develop in relation to our evolutionary heritage.
Pyaar kya hai...Khuda jaane....
Khuda kya hai...woh aik khwaab hai...
Khwaab kya hai...zindiga ka pehla aure akhri safar...
Hmmmmmmmm..................
