So I was mildly curious to the Spencer response to this and went onto jihadwatch to see the reaction. Found this in the comments.

I have been a loyal supporter of EDL since the beginning and I am not a racist and nor am I any kind of Nazi.

I wish Tommy and Kev all the luck in the world but did they really need to kick us loyal supporters in the teeth in the way that he has.

Robert, I signed a petition for you to come to the UK and now you are calling us all Nazis, so you plunge a knife in our backs too.

You cannot label all of us like this because of one or two idiots who kick off at demos

You have done a great deal of damage to our cause, shame on you.

    Arthur.

Robert, why have you decided that we EDL have some how become nazis etc, this is so not true.

There are so many decent people in the EDL who are not what they are accused of, we are loyal followers of EDL and many of us have given our all to support the EDL and Tommy and now we are all labeled racist nazis.

Did you stop for one minute to consider how hurtful it is to be labeled racist nazi by the very people you thought were your allies.
It is far worse than the shrill cries of the UAF and co.

This is a sad day Robert and it can never be undone, we EDL were your allies and we feel betrayed.

    Arthur.

Authur, come back to the forum mate. Cry You amuse me.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

    The truth hurts.

As for Paxman, he didn’t really quiz him, did he? Disppointing. Probably scared of sending him running back to the EDL had he taken a harder tack with him.

Meanwhile, back in 09 we had Muhammad Mccarthy proclaim:
    http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2009/oct/16/spying-morally-right-says-thinktank

How on earth are these Quilliam fellows going to establish rapport with british muslim youth now that they have effectively capitulated to liberal rhetoric in the bourgeois press—oh wait, thinktank. Yeah. NVM. Forgive me for being well acclimated with the politics of a lot of young muslims.

I am sorta understanding what you are saying. Maybe I have a blind spot on this but why is a rapport between young muslim youth and Quilliam or is it Quillam, important? Like they had much in common before.

The only downside I see, is that 'better the devil, than the one u don't' or however that phrase goes. Tommy would have been a good mole, maybe he has left some. Lol. That should keep Arthur paranoid.

I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

Talking to my friend about EDL and the resignations, he seems to have the same sentiment as many of you here. He says - he lives in Luton, the guy is never going to get any peace, just that the kitchen got too hot and he had to get out of it.

For those that don't want to watch the whole program, the vote was 95% in favour of EDL.

ROs have elected Tim Ablitt as chairman.

Dunno about hot kichens but he seemed in fine form in the above program this morning.

    Arthur.

When you say "95% in favour of the EDL", you make it sound like 95% agree with or approve of the EDL, which isn't necessarily the case. It's unrealistic to say the least.

The poll question was: Does the EDL represent a view that needs to be heard? and the context was a discussion largely about freedom of speech. I think very few people think the EDL need to be silenced. This poll result reflects that.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Cheers, Arthur, I look forward to watching it. Smiley

Question: personal views on him and the EDL aside, did he have any valid points? Curious to know what people think.

Should make you think though, eh, Arthur?

To be honest I don't trust Tommy and I think Quillam are taking a big risk. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

You though, have been played and you'll excuse me for laughing a little inside I'm sure.

How is quilliam taking a big risk ?

In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living

because if the former EDL leader continues being a bigot who collectively holds Muslims responsible for the crimes of extremists and incites people in the way he used to they will be viewed as having failed and facilitated him
