  • Moral Questions?

So the centuries old Shinto/shogun (not saying I know what I am talking about here lol) hari-kari, dying for emperor/country has bben vanquished in the sixty odd years after war and capitalism? Are the villages different?

I took it that you were talking about shame/honour in the moral/sexual sense, and that really doesn't exist here.

I've never known a country less moralistic about sex than Japan. Sex is just something you do.

The other hierarchies and duty obligations are still strong, however.

You mean like usually a decision can be both brave or foolhardy/stupid, you don't know which until the outcome is decided or if the outcome is to your liking or not?

I think they were brave. What makes the act itself cowardly? I have many blind spots from many years of seeing death and destruction in lands of my parents etc.

They faced death in either the outcome or any period between hijacking and the mission results in what was a suicide mission. Not everyone will face death in this way or willingly.

Two of the three mission targets were civilian, hence why I think the mission was cowardly. Although I completely acknowledge civilians are targets by Israeli, America, etc. Civilians are always targets in war.

Forgotten your age era. Still studying. Looked Bogart in urban dictionary, new to me, thank you for adding to my slang vocabulary. Are you the cleverest/brightest/inquisitive pupil in your class, or you need extra help?

University isnt the place where one gets extra help from professors. Each student is responsible for themselves. If one is struggling it is up to the student to work/study harder or take whatever necessary steps to improve. For myself I have never required a tutor. It is all down to the effort I put into the course. If I struggle I know it's because I am slacking and change my study format. I changed this format for biology as my previous format wasn't as successful for this class as it was for English literature or History for example.

I mentioned wanting to look under dark stones, and on the underside of the stone, I am not good at ignoring things that make us uncomfortable, I want to lay them on the table for all to see. It is reminiscent of the rubbish brush under the carpet, it should be magnified, humanity would have itself explained to itself, if it did so.

We face our "demons" sooner or later. It is not so much that we brush issues under the carpet. We, as humans, just ignore the lessons of the past and repeat the same mistakes.

    .
I like people who admit they were wrong (albeit on a technical point) but that is all I got. Bogart chief, I think I need to do a degree to understand this, analyse/infer and conclude. I am street philosopher lol.

You caught me on a good day. I usually follow the philosophy of acknowledging mistakes but never admitting to the mistakes publicly.

To put it simply do you want me to answer your hypothetical scenarios using the knowledge I have of alternative outlets working or answer from a blank state position?

culture/smulture, it is all biology, culture just changes the manifestations. I don't know the words/terms, sometimes I find that there is a word that describes a 'theory', I say good, cos I am on the sirat-e-mustaqeem and doing your own thinking/without books is scary but worth it. Maybe Bogart you can explain free will is an illusion, but judging by half your post, I suggest as addressed to a twelve year old.

Anyways culture/underlying biology - similar to smoking - yellow teeth and lung cancer - cause and correlation, I have to hurry, jummah prayers and I have to leave summat for 3 to make her lol.

Freewill is an illusion as we are always constrained by interior and exterior influences.

I put it to you Bogart, that the target were not in the main civilians (even if they are 'always' the target', good of you to acknowledge the other side, you are growing on me Bogart.

They chose those targets because they were the economic, political and military symbols of the unholy trinity that makes Amreeka the 500lb gorilla it is. They could have chosen specific times and dates for 11/9, when there would have been more casualties. (My heart goes out to those innocents on the plane, my mind travels to an imaginary child, it was morning/weekday so maybe there were not many, travelling with their parents - the same parents unable to help their children because they themselves were defenceless - I mean how can you look your child in the face with what was happening, what would one say...)

They could have chosen to fly two/three planes each into nuclear stations, more casualties? more longer lasting damage. The jihadis sure did punch the two front teeth out of the Manhattan skyline, expecting the muslims of the west to rise with up them (that was a miscalculation, we are too cushty). Since then it has been payback, the downer for the high. (for the jihadis)

I am beginning to really like you, be worried, I might ask you to marry me lol. So I wisearsecrack a opinion on why you talk to your utor the most in a individual class, is it because you are the most inquisitive or the most needing of help. You young sir, avoid the actual question but go all matter-of-factly. So would I.

Will you marry, I am allowed under Islamic Law to have four wives and under UK Law I can marry a fella, it is gresat, taking from both cultures, truly assimilated. The 'demons' are the crux imo for the advancement of mankind lol, instead of repeating past mistakes, recycling the generations, same shit different decade, it should be examined and scrutinised.

I think men should be euthanized at 45-50, not alphas (I would only have three months tops at the lower age level).

I mean I grew up before technology and the reason I say media/porn/internet might not make a difference is that imagination is sicker than anything found on celluloid. The older you get the worse it gets, OZ does it level off, something to do with bad testosterone, SHBG (or some combination of these letters)the older you get.

I think our ancestors did not live much beyond 45 -55, alphas probably at the longest, in that short span of life (relatively) man needs to learn/acquire/utilise his reproductive skills, the females at the same time undergo menopause at mostly 45/50/55 usually, but man can impregnate till 90(viagara), why the discrepancy? Is it because females were not meant to live much beyond that and in the shorter (this is true if indeed it was short, nasty and brutish - caveman life- rather than egalitarian so to speak)time man was evolutionary allowed to spread his genes for as long as he can (in his life)

Old men now, were probably not meant to be at this age. Our sexuality was engineered for shorter life spans.

ETA - any lack of coherency point it out.

I loved yesterday Dave MK asking me twice to clarify - and then I saw it for myself   - my first post to Dave yesterday was rambling two sentences that made total sense to me, but nobody else perhaps, two clarifications later it was

Dave MK - Hmm, not thought of that.

    he received clarification.

I can understand the symbolism but I never saw the Twin Towers as one of these symbols. Wall Street sure but not the Towers. Even if these were all true symbols such lines of thought opens the doors to all sorts of targets. Should the West be allowed to bomb Mecca? If Jihadist associate more with religion than nation, culture, ethnic groups, etc, should we not destroy that symbol? Or will such an attack result in the same outcome. Little direct damage to the systems these targets symbolize but it motivates the population to call for blood. Also consider the view of other nations. Many saw such attacks as directly targeting civilians not the symbols they represent. It alienated a large portion of the population that could have possible considered what motivated such attacks. Instead it blinded these people for a few years before they started to consider the other side's view.

Now if we are going to suggest targets I would have picked the pentagon as it is not only a symbol but actually part of the military structure of the nation. Norfolk shipyards is another. West Point another. All would have direct impact on the military and the government. Destroying the Twin Towers just opened new real estate in the end.

I thought I answered the question. I am not a student that has required extra help. Any issues I have are not due to my ability to absorb and understand the course material. It is strictly down to the amount of effort I put into my work.  I can not say if I am the "best" student as grades are not public nor are professor's comments to students. When it comes to voicing opinions or asking questions I never ask about the lesson at hand. Most of my input is focused on expanding a topic beyond the lesson at hand. For example in Eng Lit. the class provided their views on several poem. One poem was about a husband losing his wife. Everyone in the class gave a almost the same opinion on poem. Lost love, death, etc. I saw it differently as there was all kinds of religious symbolism; fire, soul, cross, etc. I thought it was about the husband losing his faith due to his wife's death. So I guess you could say I think outside the box at times. However usually when doing so I tend to crush everyone else's box in the process.

The 'demons' are the crux imo for the advancement of mankind lol, instead of repeating past mistakes, recycling the generations, same shit different decade, it should be examined and scrutinised.

We always look at reasons for event happening. We usually figure out the causes for many. We just completely fail at communicating this knowledge to the future generations. All we do is generalize a few reasons which usually fail at providing real reasons so we fail to learn any lessons from such event.

Agreed regarding imagination. After all without it we wouldnt develop any of the "twist" ideas we have no be it art, torture, music, etc.

What are Alphas these days? Alphas in high-school were usually the most physical developed and popular but most had rocks in their heads. What is an Alpha in adulthood? Are they the same physical fit people in high-school? Those that become athletes? Do we as spectators become Betas or are the athletes merely tokens of our amusement? Someone may get paid millions in sports but end up I paid next to nothing to watch them do it. Do the ones that do not become athletes remain Alphas still? What about the people behind the athletes? The team owners, sponsors, etc. Is intelligence now the standard for an Alpha? Gained wealth or inherited wealth? I think the idea of an Alpha in nature no longer applies to humanity. We have outgrown these labels based on nature by introducing abstract concepts such as money.

Reproduction in a natural human way need not apply to us anymore. We are no longer confined to our individual biology. Humans can still reproduce in the normal way. However we now can produce like viruses. A female produces more eggs than the fertility cycle uses. So we could "harvest" these eggs. We take these eggs, and sperm from males, to create test tube babies. Find surrogate mothers, hosts, and we are reproducing like a virus. We inject the host with our genetic material while the host only handles gestation. One female could produce more offspring using this method than she could with her own body, Even in relaxed estimates a female could produce one offspring each month of the year for 30-40 years using hosts.

Men are capable of sexual production for a longer period of time due to the limits of gestation of our offspring. This goes back to our ancestors as it was beneficial for a male to be able to reproduce at anytime and the amount of available females. Also males do not have the bare the physical burden of gestation.  This can wreck havoc on female's bodies. So females could have evolved limits to production as a sort of fail-safe to avoid death at an age she is not capable of physical supporting gestation. Even with modern medicine not all males are capable of reproduction as their other parts of their body can no longer support the requirement for production; blood pressure, heart, lungs, etc. We have artificially enabled many older men to reproduce when their bodies were no longer capable of sustaining the process.

Your comment about life expectancy is a factor as well. Modern medicine has granted us a longer life span. Often medicine is used to counter an illness that would otherwise kill someone. You never know males could evolve to no longer produce sperm at an older ages due to changes we have imposed on our bodies. Women could also become capable of reproducing beyond the normal years as their bodies could be capable of undergoing the process due to improved health not seen in nature.

I acknowledge them all the time, it is how you learn and show willingness to learn.

The question is do you tell others that you have acknowledged them  Wink If no one knows you made a mistake then one can continue to use the facade of always being right  Cheesy

Would you kill a good person to save a loved one?

Nope, that's not how it works. It's a yes or no question.

I don't think I could kill someone purposely, perhaps out of an adrenaline filled fit of rage to stop something from happening and it accidently happening, I don't think I could even slaughter a chicken, it already makes me feel bad that other ppl have to kill them... yet i'm not a vegetarian.
