  • Suicide or not?
     Reply #240 - February 18, 2014, 09:55 PM

I received both therapeutic and pharmaceutical treatments that helped me later in life.  I used to not be able to pay attention to anyone even if they were talking right at me, and also had massive obsessive compulsions that didn't allow me to interact with others. I also had a problem with self-mutilation.  Thankfully they're in the past.  If you do have from OCD and ADD, and if you can, I'd recommend getting treatments as soon as possible.

Oh my goodness gracious, I am so glad your overcome your problems.,

You are such a smart guy., I believe you will be able to help others once you are on your own feet., Your country is a great  country with great opportunities  for  smart people.

If you're serious with all this, I'd like to put away the hostility and just start over.  I've gotten into too many fights here and I want to just bite my tongue from now on and no longer just blabber out things that may offend others.

I'm sure wherever you are, you have plenty of opportunities as well.

Hmm, depends on what you mean by this?

Win/win means mutually beneficial, in the sense that the people involved in the interaction each agree that the interaction is beneficial to them.

If you reject it simply because it's "da majority" then you're an idiot.  Conformity to non-conformity is just as stupid as plain ol' conformity.  Not that I think you really believe what you say on the matter anyway.

I don't conform to non-conformity, I conform to whatever feels right to me.  If that deviates from the majority, so be it.

And also, I do believe what I say on the matter.  What on earth makes you think you have the gift to see through me enough to judge that?

I have no issue with someone wanting to commit suicide, and I don't sit back in retarded judgment of their decision.

I don't believe mental pain is any less than physical pain, which somehow gets a pass when it comes to blanket suicide condemnation.  Not all mental problems can be recovered from, and maybe someone gets sick of constantly living with that 'pain' and knowledge that it can only be managed and they can never be free from it.

I also wholeheartedly view people who take the plunge, as far braver than me, who continually opts to keep on going out of fear of the alternative.

But hey, you know me better right?  there is no way these are my true views, right Sherfuckingwronglock?

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

I'll keep this short and sweet:

    Quote

I don't believe you.  You speak as someone who's never faced suicide in their lives.

Actually, the suicide scenario you're speaking of is people too afraid to keep on living (usually due to depression or catastrophe) so actually that's the opposite of what you're claiming.  Suicide attacks, as in taking the enemy with you in warfare, or "martyrdom", that's bravery.  Can't say it's good though...

To be brave, you have to risk something.  Blowing your brains out because life is getting you down is not that.  That's not honorable, it's all I'm trying to say.

*One* of the things that prevents me from committing suicide is being too chicken-shit to actually do it. Not fear of death as such, just fear of the physical pain that killing myself would involve. Also, the fear of changing my mind at the last minute or failing and ending up maimed or incapacitated. I'm sure this is also true for plenty of suicidal people. In that case, wouldn't offing oneself actually be the "brave" thing to do? I imagine there are a lot of people still with us because they were too "cowardly" to check out when the going got tough at some point.

As far as this discussion is concerned, I personally think if our 70-year-old has decided its time to leave the party -- after extensive thought and consulting a psychologist, no less -- that's his prerogative. We're free to stamp our feet and disapprove but at the end of the day, it's his choice and a thought-out and informed choice at that.

As far as this discussion is concerned, I personally think ..

This is silly discussion in this forum.,    there is NOTHING TO THINK ABOUT THIS.,  Suicide for no reason is stupid.,   Suicide is simply criminal escape of the problems that one is unable to face.
*One* of the things that prevents me from committing suicide is being too chicken-shit to actually do it.

what?     why Al-Alethia ?? So if...if  you are "NOT  too chicken-shit "  you will commit..........?  why .,

Adnan Hoca, Turkey's self-taught Islamic televangelist, keeps an entourage of buxom ladies by his side What would you think if a voluptuous, sexy blonde started preaching to you about Islamic values and creationism? You’d probably be dumbfounded, right? But for some people it might very well be the best way to transmit a religious message. Certainly Adnan Oktar, a famous cult leader in Turkey, believes so.

    ......
    Quote
On Oktar’s nightly show, he sits around a table with his bombshells and talks about Islam, the Quran, creationism, politics and current social events, along with musings about himself. He calls his female entourage “kittens” and repeatedly asks them what they think of him. An example of the dialogue goes like this: “Do you love me?” Oktar asks. A “kitten” then answers: “I love you so much, my master.”

    Quote
In 1986 he spent 10 months in a mental institution—then claimed that he was not ill but rather a political prisoner. He was arrested in 1999 and stayed in jail for nine months, charged with forming a criminal organization, but the charges were later dropped. The Anti-Defamation League labeled Oktar anti-Semitic after he published the not-so-subtly titled book Holocaust Deception in 1996, under his pen name, Harun Yahya. Oktar denied that he wrote the book, claiming a friend did under his pseudonym.

^ If anything was going to convert me...

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
