Indeed. The jews running the world, the muslims conspiring to take over Europe, and the atheists war on Christmas.

Just so we're clear, the above is me mocking your claim in me believing in a "muslim conspiracy". Smiley

Way to go changing it from "I don't trust Wikipedia because of their dealing with Mo and children" to "Yes but you said it in a manner that said it's going on today. Haven't heard it happening lately.".  It's kind of easy to invalidate my statement when you edit yours.  In any case, human experimentation does still occur, for example in prisons:

I'll clarify. A while ago I went to wiki for sources on a few hadiths about Mo and children, the section was completely rewritten to do nothing but put Mo in a biased light. It was frustrating because it made it that much harder for me and made me weary of trusting wiki completely because of something so blatantly biased. If this article is like that, how many others are? Upon scrolling through your link, it seemed like a well researched article so I edited my comment as I decided it wasn't relevant. Because of my previous comment (which I removed) on losing a level of trust for wiki you somehow came to the conclusion I believe in some sort of muslim conspiracy, rather than simply losing trust in the site itself for the reasons mentioned.

The fact that my comment on one wiki article in your eyes means I believe in some sort of conspiracy is baffling.

Also, I edited it before you posted your comment. It wasn't an attempt to make you look bad.

What's actually baffling is you'd make such a statement and then when questioned on it, you edited it into an entirely different message.  Only because I brought it up again have you admitted to saying it.  I'm kind of puzzled why you've done this?  The fact you dismissed a link on an historical event with "Wiki got some stuff wrong on Muhammad and his children" or whatever and then edited the message out left me with the impression that you were paranoid and conspiratorial in regards to Wikipedia.  I should have voiced my objection in a more level-headed fashion, but still.

Fine, fair enough, maybe I responded too fast, but I still find the original comment odd, because I'm not sure why anyone would dismiss an entire website because of a personal problem with some article on a religious subject.

So when I go to a site for information and see blatantly misinforming heavily edited biased views on a historical character, you'd be confused as to why my trust in the site may waiver?

I addressed this conspiracy comment, and then in my next post I clarified out of courtesy. You're reading to much into it.

If you have nothing to hide, why did you edit it into something totally different after I left my comment?

In any case, I've proven my point and let's move on.

^That's why. And the only point you seem to be making is that I believe in some sort of muslim conspiracy, let it slip, tried to hide the fact, and only you bringing up something that made me lose trust in wiki and asking about the comment dragged my conspiracy theory kicking and screaming into the light of day.

The conspiracy theory, and the fact it makes you uneasy, makes me wonder if you think there's more to it. I actually figured it was one person trying to show his prophet in a good light. I don't understand how one biased article by, most likely, an individual with an agenda (showing Mo in a good light only) means I believe in some sort of conspiracy.

Perhaps I'm doing just what I'm wondering if you're doing, namely reading more into it than is actually there, but it comes across as an attack on my character. If that's not what you intended, agreed, let's move on.

It's more that Wikipedia gets accused of this a lot by a variety of different people, so I'm just uneasy about such statements.  If I'm wrong, I apologize.  If this is indeed an issue with Wikipedia, I'll relent.

I didn't mean to attack your character, I just use my words unwisely and I'm too confrontational.  I apologize.

So if the inmates are unwilling, wouldn't this be considered torture, an illegal violation of human rights? From a legal standpoint how can they get away with it on US soil?

Because they're prisoners and no one cares about them.  Not only are prisons huge BDSM style torture centers that would make Stalin's hair stand up white, if you ask most Americans, they want them to be worse!  In fact, I remember coming across one person's suggestion that to fix our prisons, we make them into torture centers for a few months for all offenders, and that we expand the death penalty as well.  We live in a fucked up culture of war and punishment.

Part of me, as a scientist, really wants to see a living Neanderthal...It would be so neat. But it does feel slightly wrong.

It's not likely to happen (anytime soon).  If it did, it would make for some public amusement and some scientific curiosity until the guy/gal gets forgotten and becomes another average joe with a job and family.

I doubt it, he/she would not be resistant to many diseases, and there would constant surveillance to understand his/her behaviour.

It's why you need a clear plan for the life of that Neanderthal before there's any attempts to resurrect it. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm not saying it shouldn't happen, just that questions need to be asked first. It would be fascinating.

Like I said, I'd have to meet one. I have no idea if I could be attracted to one for a start. Considering early humans and Neanderthal did in fact procreate I wonder if I'm actually closer to Neanderthal than some earlier humans (I'd need to ask an evolutionary biologist about this).

If it's a classic case of boy meets girl, boy and girl like each other, boy and girl have the hots for each other, I don't see why not.
