    Hi I  became a Muslim by talking to some dawah preachers, I was initially born a Hindu but somehow got brainwashed into that cult Islam. However after reason and logic, as well as discovering Muhammad's dark side I left this disgusting cult. So please ask me any questions I am new here and would love to engage with other ex Muslims.

    Welcome. Have a parrot. parrot

    How long were you a practising muslim for?

    `But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
     `Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
     `How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
     `You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

    About three months before I realised science, evolution and rationality far exceed that 7th century misogynistic cult. How about yourself?

    Welcome.  parrot

    Were you ever really committed to the faith part of it, or did you more like the idea of the practice as told by the preachers? Three months isn't so bad, glad you got out quickly!

    Me? I'm not an ex-muslim. Pub Regular mate, there are a few here. Afro I actually read the entire bible when I was 12 because I wanted to see for myself, saw it was bullshit. Moved onto other religious texts, including the quran and hadiths, same conclusion. Bullshit. Interesting as a glimpse into an ancient society and culture, but no more than that.

    Indeed its clearly evident that islam is nothing more than plagiarised juedo Christian traditions  as well as ancient arabian paganism

    @billy.
    Basically I got seduced by those cronies from IERA. These dawah preachers resort to thier usual tactics which is to vilify and malign other belief systems different to thier own. What I have now come to realise is that Muslims are very intolerant of people who believe differently, or think differently to them.  Rather than accepting other beliefs they feel the need to vilify them and find flaws in them whether its Atheism or Hinduism etc. Instead of accepting them they also feel the need to shove thier dogma down other peoples throats. They also claim to have a monopoly on god and salvation

    When it comes to the gods of human religion I'm very much an atheist, but I'm open to the idea of a deistic/prime mover outlook. Not convinced, but open to it.

     Reply #21 - March 14, 2014, 11:52 AM

    not sure what i am, i'm kind of in between a Deist and Theist, i believe there is some kind of supreme, sole source of the universes that doesnt interfere in the evolving of creation and i also beleive people receive divine inspiration and prophecies but not from God but perhaps some other beings out there, but i reject all religions as being obvoiusly manmade...  so not sure what my label is except mixed up lol

    Lol I grew up in a relatively religious household but it gained more of a stronghold as I got older. I recently left Islam after having enough of the mental torture of believing the majority of the human race would burn in Hell for eternity, and after researching it to back up my thoughts. I live in London but I've moved for uni.

    What brings you here Quod if you dont mind me asking, were you almost at the point of taking shahada ?

    Hi Sachp, i became a muslim when i was at art college i happened to move into a small flat next door to and parralel to a mosque, i had never even seen a muslim before, being english from an all white area, i was fascinated by them but also ignorant as i rememeber deliberately playing music at top notch out the window at jummah time  :/    i made friends with some libyans and they convinved me to take shahada but i didnt and moved back home to mum, then after 2 years of contemplation and being tired of western morals,  i went back to the mosque and converted..  after years of a bad marriage i left islam and came back to live near mum again, but im feeling a bit empty, i guess im one that needs some kind of belief but cant find anything to beleive in..

    I see that you were once hindu, what was it that made you give up hinduism.. Isnt that the oldest known religion, vedic  ?  i have always meant to read about it

    peace

    Forgive me, I don't want to be too nonchalant on the public forum, I'm sure you can understand.

    @suki

    I know what you mean about believing in something. You feek kind of empty after leaving religion and being faced with the universe's as a brute fact. But then now you're dissatisfied with the classical ideas of God. I for one am confused as to how any 'reason' for the universe's existence can be logically and morally sound without just making stuff up.
