So majority of muslims and religious people are drawn in by a created religion they imagine/believe to be real? Aren't they the blind ones then? A lot of these religious people are actually really intelligent, do you think it is their faith that blinds them? Like there are certain don't go there questions for most muslims.

It's just hard to believe that so many people fall for something that has no solid ground

Why is it that they can find an excuse for everything, I mean look at the Noahs ark story, the other day I heard my mum teaching it to my little brother and I just thoguth OMW she beleives that story, and it SOUNDS like a childs fairy tale but they firmly believe it happened, and I use to not so long ago just accept it was true, but when you REALLY think about it your eyes open.
So is it just a matter that they don't really think about these things?

I'm sorry but this is just completely irrational. Why are you not worried about Buddhism's followers, Hinduism's followers, or Christianity's 2 billion and more followers ?

Hell, yes, also I never thot I would be in this place where I completely lose my faith, but I can no longer look at it the same way and that scares me, I feel like I'm going to be disappointing my family yet again (my divorce being the first disappointment)

Think of it like this. Every person in the world today cann invent a religion that incorporates the idea of Hell. If some of them succeed into spreading these ideas, would that make them anymore true?

Exactly. Your life just happens to be revolving around Islam, from your family to your friends.

Btw I was referring to all religions and religious ppl in this post Smiley

I guess I'm still holding on to what if I'm wrong and I just want to be 100% sure, I feel like i'm not standing up for the faith I grew up with enough (even tho that is a thin leg to stand on). There is a lot of emotions behind leaving a faith and I'm still getting there Smiley

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.

But on the other hand I refuse to beleive that majority of the world is going to hell because they not muslim

Think of it this way. We realise that our brains house what makes us who we are. Our memories, our experiences, our knowledge, our language, our passions, our emotions, everything. If someone has brain damage they lose parts of themselves. They can no longer speak or remember loved ones or think with the clarity they once did. The brain as a whole is our individuality, the sum of everything. And yet, despite knowing that when the brain is damaged, part of us is lost, somehow we're expected to believe that when the entire thing dries up and rots we somehow survive it intact.

I don't know if you've ever seen a brain die. If you haven't allow me to paint you a picture. Imagine electricity. Biological powered lights buzzing and flickering and shining, blazing like stars. For lack of a better word, the soul. Now imagine it dying. The lights dimming, becoming less frequent, until there's hardly anything left. And then that last flickering spark going out.

    That's it. The end.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.

Well, our energy will live on. Think of all the energy we consume in our lives. The food we eat, the liquids we drink, the air we breath. All of it is energy. Life in every breath. When we die, we give the gift we've taken ourselves. We will die and our energy will be consumed and sustain the lives of those we leave behind, the lives of those yet to be born. We are connected to everyone and everything. Our chapter may end, but we pave the way for new chapters and the stories they will tell. And stories never die.

So there lies the problem. You are absolutely correct in that if something seems unjust, it doesn't mean that it is not true.

This kind of flawed reasoning is definitely responsible for why religions in general go unchecked due to sheer antiquity. It makes people feel safe to be complacent. They believe that, if there are problems that make their faith clearly nonsense, everyone would know these problems, and no one would subscribe to the religion. It is clearly extremely far from the truth.

But when Moses came to them with Our signs as clear evidences, they said, "This is not except invented magic, and we have not heard of this [religion] among our forefathers." [28:36]

Rather, they say like what the former peoples said. They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not but legends of the former peoples." [23:81-83]

They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." [26:74]

The quran says you shouldn't do something just because your fathers do it, and then goes on to say that the father passes his religion on to his children.

Allah quotes the Quraish as saying this, and reprimands them because they don't "ponder" and "reflect" but only follow their "forefathers. Pretty much like most Muslim today are doing, and exactly the same thing lua's husband said trying to come back with some "smart" counter-argument to her Islam critique. Smiley
