    So i found an affordable, safe and neat apartment near my new job that I can move into by thursday

    How do I tell my mum this, I am so terrified of her response

    I would just tell her you need to be nearer to work plain and simple, i wouldnt bother saying it's because you make life hard etc, no point in causing a rift,  who knows she may be nicer to you once you have your own place..  youre a grown woman you can do as you want   : )

    There is no easy way agno. Just do it. Just tell her two days before your move that you found a place near your job and that's it. Two days is good, cuz you didn't postpone telling her in the last minute, but she won't have enough time to bully you out of it. Be strong. Her reaction will most probably be in line with her past behaviour. Anger, shouting and insults. Be prepared on her black mailing you and verbally/emotionally abuse you in order to put pressure on you not to go through with it. In the end, moving out is just one more step closer to freedom. You know that Smiley good luck!

    And as suki said, maybe this will give you distance to break lose from her control and subsequently it MIGHT give you both a chance to get along easier once you see each other. You can always hope Smiley

    Most parents bark is worse than their bite. If they are good religious parents, they would have done a number on you, hence all the fraught now. Be brave...
    I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

    Yeez, my grandparents  and thats about it, no one else will be bothered by it. Maybe my mums family, but they all crazy

    Confused: Mum, I have found a nice apartment and I am moving out.
    Mother: *some sort of profanity followed by emotional plea*
    Confused: Mum, we are both too old for this, I will still visit you- I just need my own place.
    *Confused then walks away in an assertive manner & feels like a boss*
    My mind runs, I can never catch it even if I get a head start.

    No, no one but my brother knows. And my mums family live in a different town

    No one can really stop me, im just afraid of teh verbal attack, hoping no physical attacks

    I was all amped up to tell my mum i moved out, Im at her place tonight

    I planned to do it tomorrow when we both fresh, gonna take her for a drive and explain it to her and take her to see my new place

    Although in my head I had this whole speech planned out but when I saw her I lost all my nerve, I still plan to tell her tomorrow but not feeling confident anymore

    but ye i need to rip this bandage off

    Ladybird, I have questions about your icon and also I have terrible eyesight. Are those birds? Or did someone draw a face over a picture of the sky? Or did the birds arrange to form that face and that's why you chose it? Or am I the only one who sees that face? Too curious, must know! Grin
