I lived in Lebanon for a while, i loved it. Never went to the nordic lands unfortunately :/.

Believe me, Brazil is not all that. Minimum wage here is something about 300 bucks, you can't even pay the rent (which is something about ~500 bucks). Political corruption here is INHUMAN, and the main political party here is leftie (i fucking hate it, i swear by Odin). Everything with technology costs your ass. An i-phone? 1000 bucks (YES, 3 MINIMUM WAGES).

Assaults, robbery, violence, homicides, rape and kids having sex is the routine here. Once i woke up with a gun in my head, got tied with my family while they stole our stuff. It's not all relative, i hate this country/culture so much, i can't even describe.

Hi I'm new here although I made an account a while back. This will be my first Ramadan not believing,  the day hasn't even started yet and  I'm already becoming frustrated lol. Even though I was doubtful last Ramadan I still tried to boost my 'imaan' but now I don't believe at all.

My family are the type that will go crazy if I don't read tarawih (I know its not fardh) and want me to finish reciting the entire Quran at least once! It pisses me off, I don't believe this bullshhitt anymore but its still controlling my fkin life. It might seem lame but I dream of a time where I can put this bullshhitt behind me and live life, unfortunately its going to stay a dream since all my friends and family are muslim therefore to live a Islam free life I would have to leave everyone i know.

On a side note is it okay to drink bathroom tap water? (Uk) I've heard people say you shouldn't drink it because its not clean enough.

I don't think it will hurt you for a month, it would be all over the news if there were organisms in there that made you violently ill. Mostly the problem with tapwater in countries that treat their water is the amount of pollutants, and that is normally an accumulative issue. However, I am in US and not UK, so you might want to wait for a UK member to advise.

Cold tap water in bathrooms if they are on the second floor usually comes from a storage tank in the attic due to the need for the pressure for taps to work properly. If it has been in there a while there may be bugs in it. Kitchen and downstairs loos usually are served direct from the mains so it is drinkable as it is fresh and non-stagnated.

Yea, that is considered a big time cheat in my family.  No sleeping through the day allowed at all, otherwise it doesn't count.

My brother sleeps through the day, and I always laugh at him over it and ask him why he is bothering lol.

In fact given that he had a hangover just yesterday, my family also believes that you need to not drink for 40 days before ramadan (as do so many other UK Moroccans believe), so that it's totally out of your system when you do fast.  Well given that, his whole fast is a failure, and yet still he is trying.  Joker.

UK Moroccan muslims crack me up.  All year long they are non muslims in everyway (except pork), and then for 40 days before ramadan, until the day of eid, they behave like muslims.

^ Ahh, I see that with international students here all the time.Being very "westernized," not very observant of the religion, and then when Ramadan rolls around, they say they're fasting, and the mosque is packed with college kids. Grin

I have heard all my Islamic life that the Sauds do that, sleep through the fast.

This Saudi sure won't disappoint...I don't get what the point of it is, though, if you're just flipping your sleep schedule. Oh well.

I have seen that too Grin  They also only pray during ramadan.

It's all the fault of that stupid belief that one hajj will gain you forgiveness for every transgression up to that point.  All those Moroccans I know, are all vaguely aiming for a trip to hajj one day in the very far future.

Come to think of it, the first time I heard this was at the mosque when the imam was making an announcement urging us to donate to a mosque construction in some other state that he was associated with one way or another. You should feel honored and feel blessed if your money buys even one tile on a masjid, IIRC.

I've heard that one too.  Especially when they were raising money to build a proper mosque many years ago, where I am from in the UK.
