Not fasting turns out to be pretty damn expensive.  Cheesy

Until now I have only sneaked fruit out of the house and bought my lunch/diner outside. But that is costing me too much. Have to find ways to prepare sandwiches in the evening and take them with me to eat at Uni. If I leave them in the fridge and take them out in the morning, my parents might hear me. If I leave them in my room, they might go bad. Hmm.

Cookies. Easiest way to get protein, whole grain, and dried fruit into a convenient size for transport. Keeps without refrigeration, even in high temperatures. I do peanut butter oatmeal, but you should add raisins and nuts. Snack fare, but filling.

We were raised Methodist and had a brief encounter with Catholicism right around the time when I jumped ship into Islam. I actually still think our Methodist church was kind of cool. There was a bit of preaching and then a lot of coffee hour.

I think my parents were both Catholic to begin with, but then we moved and the Methodist church was closest. Grin

Yeah I've seen this happen once or twice, it seems some Christians aren't fussy about what sect the move too as long as they find somewhere. I know a couple of Chinese couples who move to Europe and join a different church, just as long as they feel a part of something I guess they're happy.

For me my Dad was a quiet athiest until we got older and my mum an agnostic who would follow suit (take communion) just to 'fit in' if we ever found ourselves in a church situation. My only religious guidance outside of school was through my Gran, who took us to mass until we were 13 and then we were off the hook.

So, uh, that one time I walked into my room (in halls) with a cigarette but stuck to my shoe that managed to come off and remain next to the door. Needless to say, parents, er. came to visit me in the next few days.

Since when did jurists rule that smoking tobacco is haram? Hashish I can understand, but tobacco was always makru. or was it? Hanafis have always been quite truculent in their use of analogical reasoning.

Tobacco is very harmful for the body no matter what the government do about it. After all they are being lobbied by cigarette manufacturers. This new realisation is now dawning into the minds of scholars like Naik now, who declared them haram. Strange you need a scholar to know what is good or bad for you.

However, I am making progress in acquiring friends from Goa  who manage to bring some pork into the country every now and then. I hear Goan cuisine is renowned for it's pork dishes  grin12

I'm dependant on Nutella and bread. Sometimes cherries.

More like a curse because I can't get proper food during the day Cry and I get full fast so I can't compensate during the night.
I'm 178 and 68 kg, losing anymore weight will start dipping into unhealthy.

I need to make some no Muslim friends who can actually cook so I can mooch off them during the day.  Cheesy

I think that somali lady is one? I think she is the spokesperson of this website? I used to hate her soul and thought she chose money and fortune rather than heaven lol Cheesy

Solo-Man: Yeah, Ayaan Hirsi Ali  Cheesy I always said she was just scarred by her culture and Islam would never be so cruel to her. But it's another somali lady than the one you're talking about, I think. Hirsi Ali is not the spokesperson of this CEMB.

I seriously pity those who have strict families who live in a place where it doesn't even start to get dark until 10pm.

    Long-ish Rant-ish Update:

Fasting has been going terrible for me, even with sneak eating and drinking.
I use to be able to gorge food after Iftar but now I can barely eat soup and some rice during Iftar. I was going the whole day with only two solid meals and I can't eat that much during Suhoor because who the fuck has an appetite at three in the morning.

I had today off because I had that hygienist appointment as said and I had only started feeling better (I hit my head yesterday, ouch) and tommorow is going to be a pooper cause who wants to fast on Fourth of July.

Just like Johnny Flynn said, the breath I've taken and the one I must to go on.
