Was privy some to some notty activities of a married Muslim woman like yesterday. Wasn't fasting due to her period. Didn't stop her from her adulterous activities though. Later same day she asked for donation for a charity food event.

Is it me or is this Ramadan going faster than expected?

Yes, very much. Apparently not fasting makes it all so much more bearable.

I've always found it pretty amusing just how much the poles contradict Islam in general. (ramadan, that one verse(?) I can't remember about God's awesome ability to bring up the sun at the start of the day and bring it down at the end of it(lol), God "flattening" the earth, etc...) It's almost as if Eblis-boi created them  Wink

I was walking home on my break from work yesterday, while people were going to Jummah.
I had a 2L bottle of water in my hand, felt like a boss.

My mind runs, I can never catch it even if I get a head start.

There are some very serious health issues being discussed here - like diabetes.

Is there any formal research looking at the effects of ramadan?

Strokes, heart attacks, weight gain, cholestorol, accidents, diabetes .....

What should I do if I have diabetes?

If you take medication such as tablets or insulin to control your diabetes, please speak to your GP before Ramadan starts to find out if it is safe to fast. Not taking diabetic medication is dangerous and can cause short and long-term health complications.
If fasting is not recommended by your GP or hospital team, the Islamic ruling is that you should not fast during Ramadan and should instead make a charitable donation (fidyah)

I think its gone pretty fast this year too, a lot quicker than I would've thought. Although, now I've got to look forward to another month of dieting to get the Ramadhan weight off  Cheesy.

Okay my dad is having an allergy attack mixed with bronchitis and won't break his fast because it's after 12pm here. I honestly feel no remorse whatsoever for him, or pity. Serves his pea brain right for being so ignorant about his health.

Are you saying inhalers are not allowed?

An allergy attack where drinking water may dilute the allergen and reduce his response as well as being able to take anti-inflammatories for the bronchitis reducing damage to the lungs.

No offence mean here Wisely but Darwin-awards!

Are you saying inhalers are not allowed?

Yup. It's orally taken so it's gonna break his fast. The dumbass forgot to take an anti-histamine last night before suhoor.

Lily there's no offence taken! I am on your side of the argument.

Lily, I can't parse your sentences!  Inhalers go into lungs - what has that to do with drinking water?   I got the impression the inhaler going through your mouth to your lungs may not be allowed

Inhalers come from the mouth to the lungs but they can sometimes (well most for me) form a liquid that sits at the back of the throat. That would qualify as breaking fast.

Also he would have to take antihistamine which means drinking water and well "eating" a pill.

Is this a commonly held view?  I had not heard that - I do not recall it being stated in formal research about ramadan fasting.e

I don't know about other families but were Shias and if it's past "halfway point" or 12 pm then you have to finish fasting.

    Woah!  This is very important!

What are people saying here?  How common is this?

Are people saying people do not take their tablets when fasting?

Is injecting insulin breaking a fast?  Why not?

No. You can't take meds. But that can count as being "sick" though so you don't have to fast.

My dad takes all his meds during suhoor. Both him and I have terrible allergies and take 24 Allegra-D so it can last through the day. He takes one aspirin during suhoor well because he's high risk on heart attacks.

However injecting things directly in the bloodstream does not break a fast as far as I know.
