  • Why does Allah require women to ...?
     OP - June 16, 2014, 08:24 PM

    To cover themselves while praying?
Allah sees women naked all the time and how come when it comes to the prayers, he wants his own creatures to cover , especially women?

Well, my question is not really that but I was wondering how muslim women see this thing. And to ex-muslim women (lol I never thought about it when I was a musim), how did you feel about it , back then?

It's bullshit. It's about the Muslim mans libido and how he cannot control it if there is an uncovered woman in the vicinity.

According to the Quran and Hadith women are as source of fitna, even in the mosque which is why Allah requires them to cover.

    Atheism is a non-prophet organization.

Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day Give him a religion, and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish!

I may be wrong but i thought women didnt have to wear hijab while praying alone but do so incase a guy walks in and they can't disturb their prayer ?? Is that correct ?

No. A Woman is required to cover herself  even if she is alone, otherwise her prayer is not valid. So that is why I was asking.

Well it's the mentality. No one will right out say women are evil, but that is the basic premise. The wicked temptress, the seducer, the one to look out for, corrupting our sons, leading us astray. Sending us to the fire just with a friendly smile. Women can't help it, they don't even know they do it. How they tempt us. It's their very nature, engrained into their DNA, all the way back to Eden, all the way back to Eve. Her and the serpent plotting behind Adam's back. Behind our back. The root of all evil.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

    ^^good points

But I wonder how muslim women explain themselves this covering thing. If they believe that Allah is not female or male, then why cover?
So it seems like they are not able to understand that God is a man's creation.
Just curios about the excuses they come up with.

I don't think that Muslim women think about it that much. It's all about modesty. Mainstream Islamic concept of modesty involves shyness even before allah (and the angels and the jinn Smiley ), that's why it's prohibited to walk around naked in your own home, for example. Uthman was described as being so modest, that even when performing ghusl he would crouch down so "cover" himself up.

The fact that it makes no sense why allah, our creator who knows everything even how we look under our clothes, would bother whether or not a strain of hair is showing while praying or not, doesn't matter. As with religion in general, people tend not to delve too much in the details. It usually ends up with them leaving the religion in the first place Roll Eyes

Allah is just really jealous and insecure about anything that could be taking the attention off of him. When men are down on all fours with their bottoms up in the air whispering to Allah about how "big" he is (that's literally what Allahu Akbar means, after all), the last thing he wants them thinking about is women.

Because the authors of Islam wanted an excuse to fall back on when they get caught raping.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

That is straight out of Christian Nun convention and added in to stupid hadith by fools of Islam ..

    Quote
Ruling Concerning a Muslim Woman Praying without Hijab

Question: If a woman who does not wear hijab is forced to pray or if her hijab is not in accord with the shariah, for example, some of her hair or her skin is exposed for some reason, what is the ruling?

Response: First, it is necessary that one realize that hijab is obligatory upon women. It is not allowed for her to abandon it or be lackadaisical towards it. If the time for prayer comes and the woman is not properly attired or properly covered, then her situation may be broken down into the following cases:

If she is not wearing hijab or is not properly covered due to circumstances forcing her to be in that state,1 then she prays in the situation that she is in. Her prayer will then be valid and there will be no sin upon her. This is based on Allah's statement,

"Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope" (al-Baqara 286).

    Allah also says,

"So keep your duty to Allah (and fear Him) as much as you can" (al-Taghabun 16).

However, if the woman is not wearing hijab or is not properly covered out of a voluntary choice, such as following the customs or mode of the people, and the lack of hijab here means not covering her face and hands, then her prayer is correct. But she is committing a sin if she is doing that in the presence of men that she is not related to.

Furthermore, if she is uncovering her shin, forearms, hair on her head and so forth, then it is not permissible for her to pray in that state. If she prays in that state, her prayer is not valid. And she is committing a sin on two counts. First, she is sinful because she is not covering herself in general. Second, she is sinful for performing the prayer in that state.

There are no sensible answers.  I always thought this was a stupid rule.

Plus if it was about a woman being sexually tempting, but she is in her own home where no man can see her, or in her room, what difference does a piece of material make in the eyes of a being who can see everything anyway?

It  probably dates back to judaism where men were and are still told to cover the head with skull cap, for "pious" reasons, for women it was modesty, no spiritual reason just  for modesty.  Then paul the woman hater took it a step further and dammed all women for being born with hair and told them to cover up or shave it off.
