    Welcome Punjabiagnostic, bunny parrot
Good luck with your endevours but bear in mind "Allah has but a seel on the eyes of the believer, a terrible fate awaits them" no wait or was that the other way around?
What I mean is don't be too disheartened if things don't go according to plan. I've seen many attempts to talk logic into believers and most of it falls on deaf ears. Unfortunately my knowledge of Islamic scripture is poor so I can't help with point scoring but I will say even if you can get them to soften their views/practices or ease off on literal interpertations than that to me would be a good result.

I'd go with the Ibn Kathir tafsirs, in case your family then try to dispute the authenticity of your source (which is sometimes a latch ditch attempt at saving face)

My mind runs, I can never catch it even if I get a head start.

If you believe that religion serves no further use or at the very least should be practiced in private and never imposed on others,
If you value this life more than the unprovable promised enternal ones religions promise us when we die,
If you believe it is not enough to measure the wellness of society based on the whimes of the free market,
If you believe the earth has a limited carrying capacity and as a result we need to get a handle on our population,
If you believe that the displacement of people, war, climate change, polution, squandered resources, etc are some of the greatest challenges that faces humanity this century. . . in short if you believe that the human race needs to get it's sh**t together than you are a brother of mine.

Okay maybe a bit too intense, on a lighter note and perhaps in the vain of YZV

Therefore, only ONE blatant error is enough to prove that the Quran is not from ALLAH, but MU-HAM-MAD!! Suggestions please Smiley

Why was Mo mad at ham? He clearly wasn't mad for ham, was he mad from ham?

    Hi Guys,

Well I have told all four of my Kids.  They were quite good about it.  They know where I stand on this issue.
They have all confirmed that they will investigate this religion.  Three out of four are fasting today.  Lets see what they do.

Islam is like the Mafia.  You are welcome to join but if you decide it is not your cup of tea, you can only leave in a COFFIN!!!!

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

If you value this life more than the unprovable fairy tales  promised to you after you die, then you are a brother of mine.
Okay you get the idea, enough with the Agno-Atheist Guvarian style rant.

Anyway what I'm really curious about is what age is the kid who's not fasting and is it as a result of you casting doubt on their faith? Thinking hard

The verse on everything going around the Earth is the best Cheesy its meaning is so clear yet some pseudo islamic scientists like Harun Yahya make muslims believe that it means the Earth goes around the Sun  Cheesy

How the deprogramming going, any more progress with your kids? I may find myself in a similar situation to your own in a few years down the road so could use some pointers.
