That video is innovative, sure, but it just spat on every boy and man who was ever raped. I am not cool with that. Why would you focus on just the female gender if you are bothering to campaign against rape?

Because it's made in India, where the recent high profile cases have had female victims, and where the status of women is generally far worse than the status of men.

I don't think it "spits on" male victims either. The same point could easily be applied to them.

Yeah, if you are watching that, and you are a boy who has been raped, maybe you won't feel worse. Maybe.
Maybe they should try to eradicate rape itself, and not act as if rape is the sole domain of female adult victims. Their latest high profile rape case involved teenagers, not women.
Maybe if the concept can easily be applied to men and children, someone should. I don't see it being displayed here, just women.
I think they can do better. I think they should. I sincerely hope there is more to come than this one ad.
I am not going to clap for halfway. This is like that anti-domestic violence campaign in Saudi Arabistan, too little, too late, too narrow.

Three, the video is not a campaign against rape "how to stop rape etc.." but it focuses more on the outcome of it and what happens when women report it. Men or children (the children are too young to know what someone has done to them) are less likely to report this type of abuse, plus men get from little to no media coverage.
A few years ago I was totally unaware of male rape, I thought it was just a thing men did to women.

This is nonsense. The video is a satirical treatment of rape apologetics that are always focussed on women. Nobody blames men for being raped. Nobody says it was because of what they were wearing. Nobody says they must have been asking for it. Nobody says they have buyers remorse. This type of obscene and demoralising dogma is almost exclusively levelled at women.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

I think :58 is completely offensive to male and underage victims. They could have left that out. There is no need to say ¨no women, no rape¨.  I am saying, if you are going to sink the cash into a campaign on rape awareness or whatever the proper technical term of this might be, you can at least not marginalize the experiences of the rest of the victims, by telling them that if they are not female and adult, they were not raped. It is not funny, even while joking.

Exactly, so if you have a high profile campaign that you planned on raising rape awareness with, then I hope you would do more than just claim it only happens to women. Because what happens to children and men is rape, too, and you can be sure that if it is happening to women, then it is happening to others in that culture.

I know i will get so much hate for this, but why are we fighting against human nature? HUMAN NATURE. not MAN NATURE. i am not saying that any woman who wears short clothes is just ASKING TO GET RAPED. but i am saying, how can a woman who wears short clothes NOT EXPECT TO GET RAPED?

at the same time, i am not saying that any and every woman who wears short clothes deserves to get raped. i am only saying, that a woman living in a particular society which includes males, cannot expect to NOT get raped when men ACT on their baser instincts?

it is like blaming a lion for eating the deer that came to close. no i am not saying that every rapist is a lion. but i am saying, there needs to be some fucking common sense. we are not at a point where men and women can control their baser desire.

All i am saying is, when one member of a species decide to walk out in revelaing clothes, that you cannot blame another member of the same species to act on their baser instincts.

I don't think you can hold a higher organism to the same standards as you would a lower organism. Men should be caged, then, if they desire rape.

I have known men who considered unaccompanied females to be too revealing. No matter what they were wearing, if their Mahram was not with them, then they were asking for it, at any age. By this logic, then, women should wear their Mahram.

jesus fucking christ no that is not what i am saying.

I am saying, it is pretty fucking stupid of women to just roam about in their short clothes in every corner of the world and NOT expect to have some guy wanting to rape her. i am not excusing the rapist. i am not blaming the rapee. i am just saying, are we so fucking blind to human nature that it baffles us when a male decides to impose his will on a woman who is already roaming around in short clothes.

does this mean that if a woman was roaming around in a full abayya and niqab to not get raped? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

This is a mentality that I find often from people with an islamic background. Gender and sexuality come before empathy and individuality. Basically, you're male/female first, human second, rather than human first male/female second.

Yes, I want to know this, too. Because I have been working super hard for the last two years not to regard men as homicidal maniacs who have those thoughts. CEMB has been really helpful with that, so I would like to hear it on this forum, where I regard the overwhelming majority of posters (male and female) as people rather than monsters.
I want to know how to tell the difference between the two types, those with and without rape instinct. So I can avoid the latter, without the telling written confession.

question to men: when someone tells you it's part of your nature to rape, how does that make you feel?

According to Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan,
    Quote
Recent statistics show that about 25% of women in the country are subjected to sexual violence.

question to men: when someone tells you it's part of your nature to rape, how does that make you feel?

Depends on my mood and the situation. It either angers and insults me, or just makes me feel sadness/pity. I only get it from the people with the mind-set I mentioned above, and it's nearly always people from an islamic background.
