    Is there an interview about the book?
    No free mixing of the sexes is permitted on these forums or via PM or the various chat groups that are operating.

    Women must write modestly and all men must lower their case.

    That contents page reads like something right up my street. I eagerly await an electronic copy!

    I actually sent Mr. Cottee a message about the book and possible interview(s) but I was (and still am, to an extent) going through a depressive phase, so I haven't been able to follow it up.

    I'm of course dying to read it, just a bit surprised that there was no advance sharing of the findings with those involved in the interview process.  Unless I missed that part.....but then again I am contactable through other methods.

    As it stands right now, I have no idea how I, or other ex muslims appear within the book, which seems to breach the whole promises made at the start.  To share transcripts, and be involved in the process itself, with a chance to say yea or nay to the way one has been portrayed.

    Ask on Amazon for the publisher to produce a kindle version of the book and then download the Kindle app for your computer. They may oblige and produce a kindle copy.

    Does anyone know anything about the release date for this book? It was due last year and it seems the date is constantly pushed back on Amazon and Hurst. I know that the author has been publishing a lot of articles for various media outlets and they each seem to mention a different release date. Just wondering here if the book is being postponed to build up profile and pre-sales marketing campaigns.

    According to a shop here, it'll be released on 1 april.

    I pre-ordered the book. It arrived several days ago and I've nearly finished reading it. It is already available via Amazon.

    As for the constant delays of the book, I PM'd Simon about them and he was having some issues. He cant talk about it publicly... So I'll leave it to him to say what he wants on the matter if you guys feel he needs to.

    According to Simon, the publisher was not making this an easy task for him. Our stories are spread throughout the book (and there's 35 of us), and the publisher wanted him to send us only the parts referring to us. It's a lot of work for Simon so he apologised to us all that this would take waay too long and he would not be able to do it.

    I was a bit upset about this too. I do have the book however so I will let you guys know how you are talked about in the book (PM me if you want specifics).

    After the preface and before the Introduction chapter, there is a short chapter called 'Principle Characters'. It has a brief intro of each of the 35 people talked about in the book. I'll post my intro so you know what to expect:

    Alia lives in South Yorkshire (UK). where she works as a programmer in web development. She was born in Pakistan in 1987, and moved to the UK with her family shortly after birth. Describes her parents as 'traditional sunni muslims'. She is an atheist and open about this to her family, from whom she is estranged. She lives with her boyfriend, who is also an atheist.

    I wish Simon had atleast emailed us with these sections. They can be pretty identifiable. I can understand why he wants this info in there, it makes us more human to the reader and therefore easier to empathise with, but I can see it upsetting a few people.

    I have already posted about this book a few days ago in the Resources section. I plan on reviewing it bit by bit but I've been too busy to do a write-up. I will do a further review today.

    I still have another 2 chapters to go so those will be reviewed sometime this week.

    Not sure I've ever read such a badly-written book.

    I'll struggle on to the end, but what a wasted opportunity, and what a travesty of the stories that could be told by those on this forum.

    I feel for thee even as I feel for me - 92 tooth-grinding pages to go.
