that  guy is John Shelby "Jack" Spong,  a retired American bishop of the Episcopal Church. From 1979 to 2000 and he was Bishop of Newark  AMRIKA . He is a liberal Christian theologian, religion commentator and author. He calls for a fundamental rethinking of Christian belief away from theism and traditional doctrines.

    Quote
John Shelby Spong has long been known as the “nightmare” of the more conservative element of the Anglican Church in America. He is as radically liberal as it is possible to be — and still maintain a nominal identification with the name “Christian.”

    Spong’s view of God

Spong’s “god” is not the God of the Hebrew/Christian Scriptures. According to a sympathetic reviewer, the ex-bishop believes that the traditional view2 of God is dead and that “most theological God-talk today is meaningless.”

Spong’s idea3 is that Jehovah is not even an independent entity; rather, the god-essence — whatever that is — is merely something “deep within us.” This is not biblical theism; it is a form of paganistic “pantheism”

    Spong and Darwin

Spong is saturated with Darwinism. He believes4 the Genesis record regarding the origin of man is “pre-Darwinian mythology” and “post-Darwinian nonsense.” In this, he casts reflection upon the Savior (Mt. 19:4). Such aspersions, however, trouble the gentleman not at all. He claims5 there are passages in the Gospels that portray Jesus as “narrow-minded, vindictive, and even hypocritical.”

I wonder if there ever will be an Imam saying that hell and heaven is BS.

I'm fairly certain the original tale/prophecy isn't specify born of a virgin, but born of a young girl. Actually, at that point in time was a virgin a girl who hadn't given birth, or was that a point of view of an earlier time?

`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

At school (in Poland), at religious education we were taught that hell doesn't exist with all thisfire and burning. That it's simply "tthe absence of God"

Imo, there IS no heaven, hell, or spirits.

The only thing CLOSE to a spirit is our consciousness which is basically the "user interface" of our brain.

When we die, the consciousness simply stops being used by the brain because the brain is a receiver of this consciousness and thus consciousness lives on but YOU die.

The dated idea of religion to give comfort that our individuality and life will live on after death with our consciousness but even though our consciousness lives on, our person is gone because it's our brain that makes the memories and everything but our consciousness is what interprets everything.

New study says that consciousness isn't from the brain itself but, rather, the brain is like a receiver similar to a TV antenna and stuff and picks up signal which is our consciousness.

I'd like to know where you got that information from.

sure thing Inception, a scientist named Pim Van Lommel did experiments on Near-Death experiences and wrote a book on his experiences

Eindeloos Bewustzijn: een wetenschappelijke visie op de Bijna-Dood Ervaring (English: Endless Consciousness: A scientific approach to the near-death experience)

He states that consciousness is something like a radio wave going to a radio and that our brain is basically like a receiver device that catches the consciousness wave.

Thing is, I believe there should be more experiments to see if this is outright true.
