Hi my name is Hashaam Bhatti, I'm British Pakistani and I live in London, I came across this community whilst looking looking for people who also have up their faith in Islam. I think you're funny and amazing people.

Well okay Nikolaj, but this will be pretty long. I am a 16 year old male, born in England, London. (I know it's quite young.) I started having my doubts about Islam 2 months after my 15th birthday, when my Mullah, told the story of Muhammad ordering a stoning on a woman, who committed adultery, after hearing this I was shocked (Islam is the religion of peace; best sarcastic comment ever.) I didn't care the reasons behind it, but I was shocked at the fact he killed a woman who was clearly sorry. After this seed of doubt, grounded itself in me I started questioning a lot of things about Islam, i started reading the English translation of the Qur'an and realized the amount of hate, violence and misogyny in the words I once held holy. I looked at the Qur'an and the hadiths critically asking my Mullahs questions and no answer was sufficient enough.

For the next six months, I worked hard to discover more about the religion I believed in, and the more I learn't the more disheartened I became. I decided to leave Islam, for good and became a spiritual person but even that felt hollow and empty (Not enough evidence), so I began to look at videos about atheism, and I found myself agreeing with a lot of their points. So I finally became an atheist and it feels right.

However it is also lonely, I have no friends, and I hate living a lie. So I came to this Forum to talk to like minded people.

Hash Brown, I think you have come to the right place Smiley

Here you will find that you are definitely not alone. There is plenty like you in London and all over the rest of the world. Many here are teenagers as well.

Celebrate that your morals are way better than those of a non-existing skydaddy and his prophet parrot

And the fact that you were able to discover this relatively early.

Now you need to do some planning how to escape the Islamic bubble you might live in in your daily life.

How is your relationship to your parents? Siblings? Extended family? Do they know you don't believe? If not, how do you think they will react?

Do you have any future plans yet?

    Questions, questions Tongue

None of my family members extended and nuclear know that I am an atheist. In fact i am scared to tell my mother. She is ridiculously controlling and manipulative so I don't know what she would do if i tell her, the least worse case scenario is that she disowns me.

`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
