A question for all of you;
Who is our hero: Ahmad Shah Abdali or Raja Ranjeet Singh?

Tell me a little about both? I'm afraid I have no idea who they are. I am impressed by both names though. They have very strong names, and I feel these names are indicative of strong, rich characters. They are either poets, or warriors? Or perhaps both? Yes they're probably poet warriors, and I feel I should have heard of them.

I realise that I should have googled them instead of typing bullshit. But this seems easier. Who is your favourite by the way?

Both were warriors, Ranjeet Sing was the ruler of Punjab(an area now divided between India and Pakistan). Ahmad Shah was an Afghan warriors who invaded Punjab.
i asked this question in the context of what i was taught in text-books at schools(in Pakistan). We were told that Ahmad shah Abdali was a great Hero, brave and great a muslim.
What i dont understand is how an invader, who killed my fellow people, can be our hero?
And why someone who resisted him can not be our hero?
I put this question in an other way, if Afganistan, Iraq were invaded by Muslim nations, would the people of both countries welcome the invasion?

Hope you understand my point, though my language skills are not good.
