Thing is though, and I sincerely hope I'm speaking for others here also btw and not just myself, most blokes are wankers in their teenage years and into early adulthood. Even many of the ones that do ok with women are wankers. Just give us an empty house, a few memories, access to a little porn, and hey presto, we're self-partying. I still occasionally relapse. So it doesn't surprise me that 'wanker bombers' are a subset of 'wankers'. 'Wanker bombers' are also a subset of 'people who like to eat'.... But he may have a point about disenchantment and alienation in a culture that they don't necessarily want to thrive in, even if they could.
