Why don't we drop the Britain from CEMB?

Merge with the north america forum and canadian one etc…

Why not just pool our resources and expertise etc...

We can still be affiliated with Maryam and cemb etc

Actually I can't see any reason why an internet forum, of all things, needs to be tied to one particular country.

At the time (2007 I think) it was basically just to link with Maryam's formation of cemb. But in practice it has always been an international forum.

I have some thoughts on this but basically I think it makes sense to keep this forum separated from the activities of ExMNA who seems to have their own show set up - and seemingly have their own dramas.

Perhaps the forum here (this web site) could be more international in name and it could host French, German, Scandinavian, Italian, whateverian subforums just like the Urdu and Arabic forums if enough people petitioned for them.

Also with the issues in the UK it is important to have a strong Ex-Muslim voice there.

However obviously with just two actual Ex-Muslims in this thread so far the need to recruit some more actual Ex-Muslims is pretty evident wacko

Falsifier. Everyone knows that we were never true Muslims.

Haha. Like that Muslim guy on the Ex-Muslim subreddit that said that people can't possibly have left Islam INTELLECTUALLY if they don't know Arabic and the OP answered in Arabic and the guy wasn't able to read it grin12

Meh, it's always open season on r/exmuslim.

I'm over that sub anyways, certain individuals and their circlejerk irritated me too much.

That's a great idea! The German CEMB, for instance, has no forum. It would be great if we still corporate with them. I sure many of them can actually speak English.

/r/exmuslim is a very good example why CEMB should not merge with them. Half of the people there would get thrown out from this forum within a few posts.

But then freedom of expression *IS* more free in the US grin12

    Must be a cultural thing.

This already IS an international forum Smiley That's why our domain is simply CouncilOfExmuslims.com. We have / had members overlap on this forum and in EXMNA and other Ex-Muslim groups around the world. EXMNA doesn't have a forum - its online activities are mostly on Facebook. There's also a thriving discussion on the Reddit Exmuslim community.

It's not that these are separate entities so much as different platforms. Some people prefer this forum's format, others prefer Facebook's platform, others prefer Reddit, still others Twitter. Many people float between multiple platforms and online groups/sites.

That's a good idea and the mods had discussed something like that at some point IIRC. The issue is that we'd need a couple of native speaker Ex-Muslims who've got some moderation experience to co-moderate those sections of the site, in order to ensure the forum's rules are implemented properly there.
