     OP - February 21, 2015, 10:36 AM

Someone had posted this under a video with fareed Zakaria with sam harris.  I thought it was too funny not to share.

The problem isn't with National Socialism.  The problem is with individual Nazis misinterpreting National Socialism.

Moderate Nazis (as the great Ben Affleck taught us) were just normal people who didn't stand guard at the gates of Auschwitz; in fact, many of them would go home and have a sandwich and a glass of milk and later that night they would tuck their son into bed and read him a story by Hans Christian Andersen, and after which they would saunter into their study to listen to some Richard Wagner.

The problem is that Nazism was hijacked by an extremist few who gave it a bad name.  Mein Kampf is not a terrible book - it’s the best book ever written but the problem is that individual fascists will somehow continue to misread it. It's really a very poetic and entirely allegorical book - or wait, no, it's literally true but it's not literal it's... it's only literal in those parts before Adolf was unfairly thrown in jail for the Beer Hall Putsch.  The Adolf after Munich was understandably upset, the Adolf before Munich was a very gentle and merciful soul.  And did you know he was even a painter?

Well, anyway, who could blame him for his wrath - I mean, hello, the unfair Treaty of Versailles anyone?  That was a kind of Western European imperialism inflicted on central Europeans.  Those poor German fascists, they had a right to be upset!  They had a right to go on a stress-relieving homicidal rampage across the world.  They had a right to start herding people into cattle trains and disinfecting them before laying them to rest in big holes in the ground.  I mean they were just reacting to oppression and imperialism because they must have been the only human tribe who ever had to deal with oppression and imperialism.

Oh look at the time folks, my oh my how it flies... it’s time for lunch!  Well, I do hope you learned your lesson that Nazism isn't all that bad, so I bid you farewell and Heil Hitler everyone!

Oh my Christopher Hitchens its a fihrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Well, I'm convinced.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
