One of the major problems with Islam and most religions is that they don't seem to take into account how flawed and limited the human mind is and how it is swayed heavily by emotional attachments and unconsciously filters out information to confirm preconceptions or protect emotional attachments.

How could such a creature be expected pick the 'right' religion free from bias or emotions based on his particular country, culture, traditions etc... More than that how could such a creature be so cruelly held to account for having such biases, limited vision and emotional attachments that he has little or no control over.

You'd have thought the one who created humans would have known better.

If Fitrah was enough to know God & Islam then we wouldn't need prophets or holy books since no proof would be needed.

I guess Fitrah only works properly when you are born to a Muslim family.

I've had the same problem with Islam and it's ignorance of basic human psychology and neuropsychology and evolutionary psychology. We are predisposed to believe in the irrational as both a defensive and coping mechanism. That's all.

The more we learn about the brain and genetics, the harder it is to maintain the traditional view of freewill.

At best our freewill is very limited - at worst it is a complete illusion.

I remember in the koran that the disbeliever is described as being diseased in his heart, that allah increases his disease, and that allah seals his heart. And that allah guides and misguides whomever he wills. And that allah even created some men for hell, and decreed hell to be filled with jinn and men.

add then, the concept of predestination in islam, where everything that occurs is already decreed by allah.

then the reason why a person disbelieves is because, simply that allah wills for such to happen.

Then the question arises, is this just? According to asharite theology, yes. Allah can do whatever he wantd with his creation. To them, if allah wants to throw a msn into hell for no reason, he can do so, since it's his right.

"we stand firm calling to allah all the time,
we let them know - bang! bang! - coz it's dawah time!"

Modern apologists will say; 'Oh Allah only misguides those who already have chosen to go astray or have started taking the evil path, so Allah just pushes them along it further and misleads them.'

But why interfere at all? Maybe they would have come back if he hadn't pushed them further? If they are going astray already - why mislead them further so they can never return. That is unjust and vindictive.

You can't say man has freewill then interfere with it - it's no longer freewill then is it!?

And if they say - as they do - that: "Oh well God knows they will be bad." - Then why waste time with this whole charade - As soon as he creates the 'bad' ones just chuck them straight into Hell and the good ones straight into paradise and spare us all this silly game.

That's the precise test of Allah my brother. If he made it easy, it would stop being a challenge and everybody would pass!

    Takbeer!
