     OP - March 15, 2015, 01:52 PM

I joined the forum, didn't get the answers I wanted. So made a thread that I want to leave Islam; they banned my account and there members just sent me a load of threats about hell and just random insults; even though before that thread they were all very nice to me. That's how I ended up here.

What are your thoughts of Ummah Forum ?

By God what you say astonishes us!
You are talking about a work which recounts ancient myths, and which at the same time is full of contradictions and does not contain any useful information or explanation.
Then you say: "Produce something like it"‽

    "Ugh."

We actually have a thread about ummah and some of our experiences there. Let me see if I can find it.

But anyway, glad to have you here! You will find a much less toxic environment here, that's for damn sure. Tell us a little bit about yourself? What were some of the questions you were looking to have answered?

Welcome to the forum, khan Smiley

It would be nice if you could make an introductory thread in this section http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/index.php?board=2.0 so we could get to know you a little bit better.

I can't answer for the rest of the forum, but my thoughts on Ummah aren't very positive, to say the least Cheesy There are a few threads on the subject that you could look up using the forum's search function. And you could also make threads about the questions that the Ummah people failed to answer. Maybe CEMBers are able to answer them better?

I kept my username the same so anyone can see my posts on that forum. Though they deleted my last thread.

They basically tried to tell me that in this age child marriages, keeping slaves, raping slave women are all allowed.

I had lots of questions, but don't anymore because the answer would always be something like "it's in this book so must be correct, you are Muslim, right ?" or "Allah can do anything, I think you are a troll";  there answers told me everything pretty much I needed to know; now I can't be bothered with the questions, I just want to be myself.

I need to find myself, if that makes sense.

Yes, that makes a lot of sense, a lot of us here had to kind of reevaluate how we look at life and how we looked at ourselves after leaving Islam. Please make that introductory thread Naerys mentioned so that we can all properly welcome you and hear a bit of your story!  yes

I have to be honest, different people have had different stages when leaving religion, I did, I left it but went back to it, and now have left it again.

It's a difficult process to leave religion. Only the strong minded can do it.

I have been a member of the forum before but don't have that email address or password. So asked if I could make a new username and start fresh, the admins allowed me to do that, thankfully.

Here is my last username here http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/index.php?topic=27628.0

She's okay but haven't seen her for a long time tbh, just some family stuff, too complicated to explain. But she's stronger now and overcame the depression, though she is still very much into Islam and I can't tell her about my 'apostasy'

Sorry to hear about that, but glad she's feeling better. Yeah, now you're kind of in the same boat a lot of us were/are in. It's only been a few months since I was able to tell the husband about mine. Hopefully you two will get there.

It's hard when you can't tell the person you love the most what you really think about religion. I did say to her today that I don't believe in shaytaan, but she said I have to believe in him to be a Muslim as he's an integral belief of the Islamic religion. I just changed the conversation but realised that I can't ever tell her about my thoughts on religion.

Yeahh, I remember those days. It was incredibly lonely, to say the least. I had more or less resigned myself to never being completely honest with him. It's a tough situation, but now that I'm out of it, I can't imagine going back. At least for me, it's better to not be in the relationship at all than to have to be a stranger to your own partner.

Anyway, keep your head up.  far away hug

It's just one of those things, and I couldn't tell her as I'm the one who encouraged her to pray, give zakat etc.

I love her just the way she is and don't expect her to change, I kind of admire her dedication to Islam.

It's just myself now that I worry about

I used to ask my wife which person she loves the most, she said me, I then said next time I ask say Prophet Muhammad.

That just goes to show how much I loved Islam, so much so that I said to put another man before me ?

Doesn't make sense to me now why I would say to love that mammal who married a 6 year old.

    Oh well.

So thanks to them, I guess. Grin

actually I used to say salalhualayhiwasalam everytime I said or even heard his name.

And she agreed that he was the most beloved person to her.

I was also adhering to ahlul-hadeeth sect at the time, I got her to follow the beliefs of this sect and leave the softer sufi version she grew up in.

I remember when you went back on that forum after a long-time and Abu M and the dolts laughed at you and insulted you; you were nothing but polite, it's just because you don't believe in there religion any more, I suppose they are scared of you, so much so that they don't believe you ever were a Muslim. You may not remember that happening but I do.

There are some wicked people on that forum, I do believe that is what they are and it's not because of the religion itself, maybe I'm a bit naive, I don't know.  skull

There are so many people who left Islam on there, but the ever-changing members of the forum always doubt the person was a Muslim, someone once accused me of getting paid by someone to write the things about Islam to create doubts among the believers, mad conspiracy theorists, I wish I got paid to post my thoughts.
