^  I agree with the keeping of their reputation within the community though, everyone deserves another chance, with some kind of therapy. I did keep quiet about it and just told everyone that we had personality conflicts, including my mom.. besides, it wasn't entirely his fault, just brainwashed and ill advised by religious nutcases.

A lot of religions have a line like this about covering up the sins of your co-believers, and I agree with it to a point. The point where the line is crossed is when the person's actions are harming other people. If what the person is doing doesn't hurt anyone but themselves, like eating bacon, then I think there's no reason to run around telling everyone. But if what they're doing is harming someone else, then they've given up the right to having that kept private by virtue of how their actions have effected the other person.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I have a sonic screwdriver, a tricorder, and a Type 2 phaser.

Yep, I understand you, he wasn't a dangerous person though, just full of anger, he had lived through countless civil wars, poverty and witnessed his parents murdered and genocide in his community etc..  it all affected him, that's why I decided to stay with him for a while atleast, hoping in time things would get better....  anyways..

Excuses excuses excuses. I've met people who have gone through hell and back but are good people. If you're a shitty person, it's always easy to blame it on your bad experiences.

Victims of abuse always find excuses for their abusers. I did it as well, to a point..

Heartbreaking, really. Force marriages are absolutely disgusting. Poor girl.

    Bad news is:
You cannot make people like, love, understand, validate,
accept, or be nice to you. You can't control them either.
    Good news is:
    It doesn't matter.
