     OP - April 04, 2015, 06:17 PM

Following this incident, the Malaysian government decided to ban the organisers of a K-Pop concert where hijabi muslimas were hugged.

    Quote
KUALA LUMPUR: The organisers of the controversial concert where a member of a South Korean pop (K-pop) group hugged three female Muslim fans have been blacklisted.

The move was made as the organisers had breached regulations, Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek (pic) said in a written parliamentary reply to Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff (PAS-Rantau Panjang) on Thursday.

"The organisers of the K-Pop concert (Fan Meeting B1A4 Acer Special) on Jan 10, 2015 at KL Live in Kuala Lumpur have been blacklisted for breaching regulations," the reply read on Thursday.

Shabery added that enforcement activities with other relevant agencies and local authorities have been improved to avoid the incident from recurring.

The three-minute and 21-second video of the B1A4 band member hugging three fans wearing tudung (headscarf) on stage went viral on Facebook soon after the concert.

The clip received criticism, especially from Muslim bodies, who condemned the behaviour of the girls.

Ahmad Shabery has spoken out about the issue before, urging for the students to be given counselling and advice instead of imposing punitive measures.

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything
I renounced my faith to become a kafir,
the beloved betrayed me and turned in to  a Muslim
