  • greeting from turkey.
     OP - June 06, 2015, 09:50 PM

It's been five years that I'm out of closet. I used to believe fairy tales. i started my journey from my college days even though i was't serous in practicing Islam and of course reading god delusion finally detached from me the final fraction of Muslim. I got philosophy and became more passionate and  humanist. more responsible my actions. i knew that almost everything depends on us we don't need to let our actions and minds  control imaginary friend. I don't debate with theist i think it's time consuming to me. may be later when i got enough time. now i'm discovering my self and  busy for making my living.

I will be checking in this site for my spare times... stay well you all!

From your perspective, would you say that Turkey is becoming more or less religious these days?

I don't think turkey will be more religious any time soon Ataturk principles are widely taught in every institute  .. how ever there are efforts current regime trying to make turkey more religious. the country still enjoys the secular law and limited human right!

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

    Hosgeldin farhanx,

    welcome to the forum  parrot

How would you describe the situation for atheist people in Turkey? Do most of them keep it secret, or is it getting popular to come out openly with it?

    teşekkür ederim! thnkyu

well, first I'm foreigner in turkey. i have been here for just 2 years. as far as i know most atheists are anonymous which is not easy to know if it increasing or not. how ever turkey is relatively secular country most people those who come out won't have  problem rather then pressure from families.
