Interesting, overlong, piece about my old stamping ground (despite cringe-inducing 'mandem' speak).

Whole buckets of soft soap applied to the area's scholarly Islamic tradition. In the interests of balance an equal share of soft soap should be reserved for Welsh chapel congregations etc. etc.

Another reason why that sort of thing irritates me is that black Caribbeans (who, in my opinion, are the best thing to happen to Britain since WW2) are being written out of history in favour of other groups who integrate less and moan more.
