    Easy with the insults there.

    I know you have a problem with Islam (all of us ex-Muslims do) but this kind of attitude (hatred of all Muslims, blanket statements like yours and overall bigotry) is not very well tolerated on this forum. Just take a look around and you'll get an idea.

    Hello Worood!

    The muslimstatistics link you provided is a bit hard to follow.
    I'm a swede and I haven't seen any bigger study on this.
    According to this study (in Swedish) published in 2005 ( covering crimes committed between 1997-2001 ) immigrants in general are indeed over represented in crimes and the biggest difference was when it came to sexual crimes with a 5 to 1 difference. I don't know how that compares to your statistics but my data is from an official report. Basically it looks like the article you quote from has twisted the same numbers to mean that Muslims commit ~77.6% of the rapes from data that doesn't even cover religion.
    From the 2005 study an immigrant man over here is five times likely to be a rapist and that's totally bad but since the immigrant part of the population is only a fraction the figure 77.6% simply seem wrong.

    No one will ask you about your religion if you're booked for a crime and if you end up in prison they aren't allowed to ask you this either.
    However. There was a report a year ago that there was a huge shortage of prison Imams and that's the only hint to a connection specifically to crime/Islam that I know about.

    I can see that you're frustrated but I think you should focus on writing about your own situation and history to blow off steam.

    The muslim thing comes from the regional background though right? North Africans, Middle Easterners and whatnot. I think the logic is (for example) Morocco - muslim.

    I don't know Quod.  In Sweden case from what I remember, there is a big community of assyrians so it will be very wrong to associate a Middle Easterner with a muslim.

    Sweden doesn't ask about the religion of criminals, this is where the muslim thing comes from.

    The wikipedia has been edited since with this comment:
    (I removed the part about Ann Christine Hjelm. The numbers are wrong. Her investigation was based on a very limitied number of cases at Svea hovrätt (27 verdicts). The number is to low to be statistically significant.)

    It could very well be the same or even worse as of today though.

    The situation here is probably not too different from Oslo. It's quite refreshing to see how they actually report about it there.

    Muslims are off course over represented in this but the culture in motion is older than Islam and as nbhb points out there are other groups in there as well. Some of the hardest groups when it comes to honour related crimes are heavily oppressed minorities in Islamic countries but they are probably to few in numbers to make a difference in these. 'Probably' here meaning, I don't know...

    Also, I think in my numbers earlier, immigrants also contains other Scandinavians and shady groups like Germans, Irish and this guy from New Zealand I've met. They probably don't increase the rape rates to any greater extent, so, this taken into account, the Muslim contribution increases.

    You would probably need to sit down with the actual case files and do interviews with both perpetrators and victims to get to the bottom with this.

    I should add that there is no international standard concerning rape statistics. One of the biggest factors that puts Sweden in the 'top' is that if you report having been raped by the same man five times that counts as five separate rapes. This is not the case in most other countries. Then there is the case of women actually reporting rapes. If you go to a police station in Afghanistan you take the risk of being raped by the police and if you report being raped in Saudi Arabia you have committed the crime of being raped and will be prosecuted yourself.

    I think:
    - They're right about immigrants but don't know who they are.
    Here's a comment from the blog that sums it up.
    This is almost correct but not really. The 76 percent rapes committed by people with foreign background. This includes Finns, Poles, Christian Africans, Muslim Africans, Christian Middle Eastern, Muslim Middle Eastern, etc.

    - They're wrong about the Muslim ratio but the over representation is there anyway.
    I don't think the people behind this blog would know the difference between a Somali and someone from Eritrea. Not that kind of site. It's still obviously really bad though so there's no need to fake any numbers to make it look worse.
    If they would swap 'Muslim' for 'MENA' however they would be much closer to the truth.

    The good thing in these numbers is that it looks like children to immigrants are much less likely to rape.
