Carla Whitlock suffered extensive burns to her face and body in an attack.

Two brothers and a woman have been arrested in connection with an acid attack on a woman outside a restaurant in Southampton, Hampshire.

Carla Whitlock, a 37-year-old mother of six, suffered serious burns after the attack outside the Turtle Bay restaurant on 18 September.

Billy Midmore, 22, and Geoffrey Midmore, 26, both from London, have been arrested along with a 33-year-old woman. Detectives had offered a £5,000 reward for information about the assault in a public appeal.

Det Insp Will Whale, leading the investigation, said: “We have had a tremendous response from members of the public and we’d like to thank them for coming forward and speaking to us, and for sharing our appeals on social media.”

The three suspects were arrested in Gillingham, Kent, about 10.45pm on Monday and taken into custody for questioning.

Whitlock has been released from hospital but has been told she may not regain the sight in one eye...

I just don't have words to these rabid animals that walk and talk like humans and throw acid on women' face.. what kind of punishment does this god of any religion could give to these rabid animals??

I don't know why, but acid attacks hit me emotionally more than any other type of violence - somehow uniquely spiteful and cowardly.

Carla Whitlock doesn't look as bad as most victims, though I don't suppose she's counting her blessings.

I assume that in this particular instance there's nothing to do with religion. Doesn't make it better though.

I am not sure about that particular case, It may or may not be nothing to do with religion but there is a religiosity behind such actions of male species dear ROB. We need bit more details on it..

But as far as religions and women is concerned, some of the rogues in male species with religiosity in their mind think worse than animals when it comes to females.. They think females belongs to male species and they can do/getaway with any criminal activities towards women folks. And that goes to all religions...
