    I have decided to leave islam

    I’m honest enough to realise that I can’t justify or believe in the quran any longer

    I’m done with staying mute and not questioning the morality and questionable conduct suggested in the quran

    I have been avoiding this for some time and have realised that to justify the immorality in the quran one must use mental gymnastics of all sorts and dodge poignant questions ie slavery, killing disbelievers, cutting the hand of the thief etc to continue believing in it

    This all clicked when I was in London 2 weeks ago and someone said that I should pray to be neighbours with mo in jannah
    Therein I realised that I would never want to share residence with mo

    He is not the perfect role model, far from it!
    He had sex with a minor, killed many, had slaves etc

    He also mocked an old woman regarding no old people being in paradise; clearly he was playing with her, mocking her for her gullibility…

    He lied throughout his tenure to gain power and influence over society.

    Im going through older threads to collate more info so I don’t deviate from my decision in the future as I have lived as a muslim for a solid 20 years now

    Any help would be appreciated

    Ps Im buying saif's book to further my studies 

    Everything is ok., whatever makes Navtheshocker happy  he should do it as long as he puts that golden rule in front of his  deeds and actions,  He can do whatever he wanted to do..Leave Islam join Islam  go out come in.. whatever..But  let me correct the islamic history of Navtheshocker.,  Not only he many people misunderstood/misunderstand  early Islamic history that includes Quran.. Many did  understood well that hadith and sunnah..

    So I am going to correct his post

    Yes i have struggled with islam for a long time

    Probably down to evolutionary traits of holding on to learned habits over a period of time
    I’m in a comfortable position to reject islam wholeheartedly now as compared to before
    To quote saif I have reached a ‘robust’ conclusion regarding islam and its merits

    I then came back on boards read something about using mental gymnastics in order to justify the quran

    I read the violent verses of the quran, using the skeptics guide

    And upon further reflection I decided that Islam is man-made fiction in a nutshell.

    Well, I'm supposed to be on a diet as well (metaphorically, though). I just guessed that the last two weeks of 2015 should be my most worthless. That way 2016 can only get "better"... metaphorically...  grin12

    I rather work out, that way I'll be more motivated not to eat that piece of chocolate because I just spend an hour and a half sweating like a pig. Ain't no chocolate gonna take it away from me, when it's not even that good.

    here use this calorie counter it tells you how many caloires your eating and what u need to do inorder to burn them
    ie exercise in mins etc
