    The gender divide.

    Nothing made me angrier, nothing upset me more, nothing made the least sense, than the reality of my life, in which I couldn't even enjoy a childhood because I was a girl.

    Want a bike?  nope, you're a girl (hymen protection).

    Want to climb a tree?  nope, protect that hymen.

    Want to play in the park?  nope, you're a girl.

    Want to aim for a big career?  nope, you're a girl.

    Want to read the Quran all the time?  nope, you're on your period you female you.

    And on, and on, and on.

    If I had a penny for everytime I was told no, you're a girl, I'd be richer than I am now.

    That was my biggest pet peeve, being a girl.

    not being allowed to draw the human body or any living thing......but I did!

    I used to hide all my life drawings under my bed when I was at art college.
