Hey, Y'all! Wondering how many of you have used it (Tinder) and what do you do when you come across a total Muzzie (Swipe LEFT) I mean If you're looking for a wife this is the wrong place surely.
Men can be total hypocrites when it comes to how they want they're girls all Chaste and pure yet I see so many of them on tinder! and I mean the Bearded ones who look like they deffo pray 5 times a day kinda dudes.
If I were to go on there In a Hijab imagine the uproar "you're representing Islam how dare you!,and Muslim women may not date or even think about the prospects of a non-Muslim man!"
But it's okay for Mohammed 7miles away who says I should swipe right because he's Mr. Right. HAHA  piggy piggy
Anyway, I don't really judge every person has a right to use it for whatever they want and I definitely think SingleMuslim.com doesn't give them many options for a casual hook up.
    Thoughts? thnkyu

I dated a hijabi recently. Honestly, she was one of the best people I've ever dated. I would've kept seeing her if she hadn't moved away. We talked a lot about religion and science, etc., and we were on the same page. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Same with bearded guys. A Middle Eastern guy with a long beard is bound to look religious. Not all of them are.

Your positive experience notwithstanding Absurdist, I'd personally be very wary of hooking up with someone with overtly religious symbolism. In my short stint utilizing Tinder, I don't think I ever saw a woman in a hijab on there, and while I'm not sure of what the male equivalent of that would be, my own instinct would be caution.

Actually in all honesty I wasn't very successful in using that app, so what the hell would I know. Maybe I ought to have grown out a beard, and rocked the thobe look, and I would have had a better response. Grin

Well here in the UK there is actually a Muslim derivative of Tinder called 'Muzmatch', it's hilarious.

It's a phone app that facilitates your ability to hook up with many attractive looking men. And I'm not sure exactly how that hook up ends up playing out anyway, so don't ask me how that part works. I never got a "match" with that app, or whatever you call a successful find.  Tongue

I dont know why I dislike dating sites and apps.

I prefer getting to know someone before even thinking about dating. I mean, you avoid first date horror stories  Tongue

Right, so with tinder the idea isn't always "dating" per se.

Edit: It's so people can have sex with each other. Not necessarily the case, but there's kind of a reason they just show pictures, and there's no "profile" text.

Isnt that the case with almost all dating sites?  Roll Eyes

There is profile text. A lot of people don't put any, but you can put something in if you want to be serious. It's pretty clear who's serious and who's not based on how they use the space provided.

I've met several people on Tinder I didn't hook up with. A lot of people use it when traveling to meet others. That's what I did when I was traveling, and I've met people in my city who were visiting.

Nope. Different dating sites/apps attract different demographics. OkCupid is more geared towards dating rather than hooking up. There's a general consensus that if you're looking to hook up, OkCupid is probably not the place for you.

If he was wearing hipster clothes with that long beard it would offset the "religious look".

I got so much spam on tinder I ended up deleting it.

On the bright side there seem to be more dating apps being made for the specific dating niche I'm into.

For my no niche dating I'll stick with okcupid and POF.
