I remember seeing a documentary ages ago about Japanese and South Korean people who were kidnapped and brought to North Korea for various reasons. Don't remember the details but it seems to be a state policy there that if they need a skill their own people don't possess they simply find a foreigner who does and steal them. Some of them who came home to Japan were so brainwashed after years of living in N Korea that they still wouldn't hear a bad word about the Dear Leader.
