Hi Guys
Im a student from Sydney Australia, majoring in arabic and islamic studies,
After hearing about the phenomenon of ex muslims, i became fascinated. I really wanted to hear your stories and find out more.
I hope you guys don't mind me poking around this forum for a while, Ive been reading a bit already as well as watching youtube videos and so forth.
i wonder if you could recommend any books?
Hopefully i'll be able to able to put together some decent piece of writing to submit from my research.
I've read much about the islamic response to irtidad and spoken to muslims about apostates and progressives, that was very interesting
Ideally Id love to interview or speak to some ex muslims, although i find them (at least the ones open about their apostasy) scarce, for obvious reasons, but if you guys can point me in the best direction, or give some advice about information on ex muslims in the west particularly, that would be appreciated
Obviously it would be strange to ask why you left islam, since the answer is id imagine because you don't believe its true
but i wonder specifically, and my first question is, what was the point on which your trajectories changed from being a believer, to doubting and questioning your faith? was it something always nagging you, the possibility of its fallaciousness? or was it an epiphany of sorts?
