I enjoy reading the Qur'an. Probably even more than when I felt I had to defend the brutal and cruel passages. I see it now as a historical piece of literature. I love reading tafseers. I think the mufassireen were geniuses - and highly amusing.

I only left Islam once. As I said I toyed with labels such as "Agnostic Muslim" simply as a means to be an effective voice for reform from 'within' Islam. But it just feels disingenuous and have dropped that label now. But as I say my actual views about Islam and Qur'an have remained consistent since first losing my faith about 10 years ago.
