Enough people are willing to put up with it, and so the people who really like it keep doing it.

I always find it pretty easy to get used to. It's the exact same sound every time, so very easy to tune out. The Muslim world tends to be noisier than most of the west anyway, so that's another thing.

I've never understood people who are bothered by the adhan. But maybe some muaddhins don't have the voice or skills for it....

you will understand if you have mosques every other street and if you have loud speakers blasting that adhan and after prayer they start giving speeches...

I always found it to be such a revolting and disturbing sound.
