John O’Brien, secretary to the inquiry, called for a “cultural change” to ensure that child sexual exploitation can be understood and prevented.

“We need to break the culture where people are worried that they might be accused of being racist just because they record factual information,” he told The Independent.

“To tackle any problem you need to understand its scale and its nature. Data recording is crucial.

“If you don’t know how many people in your area are doing this and how many people are affected by it, and what type of people are doing it and what type of people are affected by it, you can’t begin to tackle it efficiently. So we need a whole cultural change.”

the below sentiment seems common amongst some anti islam types, ie identifying obvious racist intent is apologism for rapists apparently.

    https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/using-grooming-gangs-term-in-relation-to-muslims-is-racist-labour-policy-claims/ar-BB1r8MF0

as a side note, it appears that the younger generation don't do nuance and embrace any brain dead reasoning that caters to shallow outrage in between scrolling cat videos.

any sensible public discussion will go extinct as this cohort become the active majority. it inevitably means a return to the overt persecution and violence that was supposedly solved half a century ago.

    yes, it's optimistic thursday lol

Do you still believe that these 'Asian grooming gangs'' are primarily the product of British Asian culture. Personally I think that's a view that lacks nuance given I don't see many Indian or Chinese names in the convictions of the 'Asian grooming gangs'?

Also yeah, I do hold an honest held belief that we need a national inquiry into the gangs themselves, sue me. You can disagree and that's fine.

they are british products. race or religion are just flavours. a bit like different flavours of walkers crisps.

"innit though" - most things are about class in this grey miserable country and that's how to understand narratives that are designed to distract and polarise.

reboot the other thread if you want to continue this repetitive discussion.

and before you accuse me of something silly, let me be clear and say I care about gang victims as much as gaza victims - see below post to confirm how much I really care (hint: no holy cows).

anyway, a ghetto is a ghetto - it is not improved by changing its ingredients. the solution is to disperse migrants widely and not turn every medium sized town into a mini london shit hole. yet this labour govt will still play the patriotism card, shake its fist at small boats and all the while facilitate unlimited immigration - just like the tories did before them

keir says no to migration caps in response to projected 5 million low skilled new arrivals by 2030.

    https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/starmer-rules-out-arbitrary-cap-to-cut-staggeringly-high-migration-levels/ar-AA1xZYYt

why not open the borders to developed former colonies like canada and australia instead of third world crap holes like india and africa? high skilled immigration is the future - but the current policy suggests britain has no future.

govt backs new runway for heathrow - handy to accelerate new arrivals (and existing departures).

also some empty words of support for regional projects and less nebulous promises to cut disability benefits.
