I am a big horror movie buff.

This was one of the creepiest movies I have ever seen. I didn't like it. It was way too scary (based on a true story) and it has increased my phobia of secluded places.

If you want a real fright, watch it.

I'm so frightened I can't go anywhere around the house alone, lol.

Cheesy Wow, I very rarely see truly scary films, based on that recommendation I will have to watch it.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

    What's it about?

    From IMDB:

    Quote
After returning from a wedding reception, a couple staying in an isolated vacation house receive a knock on the door in the mid-hours of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. The couple find themselves in a violent struggle, in which they go beyond what either of them thought capable in order to survive.

I think it was the fact that the house was completed secluded (and I usually love camping and stuff), that really terrified me.

If it were a supernatural movie, it would be different. But it was about three psycho killers.

Oh, it's about human on human violence?  then it isn't for me lol for some reason I figured supernatural, I really hate realistic movies or shows.  I can watch the news for all of that.  Tongue

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

It's sad, but you are right. There's so much on psycho killers on the news, it's frightening.

I recently saw a documentary about a guy that killed his ex girlfriend be.cause she dumped him for another guy online. He kidnapped her after work (she became really successful, had a job at Disney Pixar and everything) and choked her to death with cabling. Then he cut up her body and put her in a sports bag and dumped her in a storage room under some residential apartments. The residents complained a few months later about a strange smell coming from the room, and a maintenance guy went to check it out. To his horror, he found a rotting dead body.

It's messed up that people can do that crap.

I had no idea the movie was about psycho killers, but after seeing it I don't want to go on my camping trip now - even though there will be four of us :(

I'm not too bothered by phsycological horror thrillers. The SAW series was a bit of a gore fest, but it never succedded in scaring the bajesus out of me. Likewise with other slasher movies.

I recall watching the Exorcist when I was in my teens - the rotating child head possessed by a scary-sounding demonic creature scared the living crap out of me. I watched it recently, and I still found it disturbing. The Omen series is pretty frightening stuff too.

I wonder whether my believe in the supernatural has anything to do with what scares me, and what doesnt. In fact, I don't wonder at all. It does.

I laughed through the exorcist, it was so over rated.

The Omen was scary, I liked that one.  The original though, not the remake,  It made me scared of churches for awhile lol walking past one I was always hearing the Omen music.

Nightmare on elm street made me too scared to go sleep for awhile, or to sit on the toilet cos you never know what could come up from beneath.  Cheesy

Scariest film I saw as a child was Jaws, no lie it was Jaws.  I was too afraid to go sleep.  Also the original series of incredible hulk, we had a black and white TV so I used to hide behind my dad when he would go hulk.  Then we got a colour TV and I wouldn't even come in the room when I realised he was green. Lmao

Not many films scare me though, I see it as a test.  I watch them alone, then walk around in the dark to see if I get that freaked out "someones following me" feeling.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

I found the hair styles in The Excorcist very scary.  I couldn't sleep for weeks after seeing them. hiding

Nightbreed was fucking awesome. I'll always remember being a kid and watching it for the first time alone in the middle of the night. Jeepers Creepers is also a classic in it's own way, not as scary as some films but I enjoyed it. Oh, and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And the original Evil Dead, a woman actually gets raped by a tree. I thought Legend of the Overfiend was creepy when I saw it but for some reason it was only creepy when you watch it by yourself, the effect isn't there if you have company. And Tusk. Fuck, man, Tusk. That film was disturbing.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

There's a couple of squeals out I need to see. You ever read the comics? Some of them are absolutely fantastic.

Nice ressurection, I mean the 'horror movie' theme in general, I'm often a fan. Fortunately the OP doesn't seem to be around to read my follow on comments as, while looking forward to this movie I found it really dissapointing, dare I say a stinker.
First off  'SPOILER ALERT', I'm not a fan of the prolonged torture or rape scenes such as those found in the likes of 'I spit on your grave' or 'Last House on the Left'. 'MORE SPOILERS ALERT'  Even more annoyingly is I'm a sucker for, if not a happy ending at least a protagonist survival/bit of revenge ending. Unlike the previously mentioned films, this film had neither. After the main characters fight so desperately for so long before meeting their individual gruesome endings, well the fact that there's no revenge met out or even survival achieved,  well to me ... meh that's a little dissapointing.
Finally and most annoyingly of all this film has been copying the whole fake 'bassed on a true story/real events" that's been doing the rounds by lazy film makers. After a little digging I found most of these 'based on' stories are based on a pile of manure. This tag line used to capture my imagination but now it just throws up a red flag.
