    a muslim is one who follows Islam, who ascribes himself as a muslim
    an ex-muslim is someone who used to.
    I chose to get circumcised at 17, don't tell me I never believed.

    A site like this should encourage and nurture not criticise and denigrate unless it is attacking the aims of the Council of ex-Muslims.

    I prefer not to go into specifics, but I cannot say that I have been really welcomed here seeing how severely I have been criticised. But I see that slowly a few of my statements have been accepted, i.e. on the meaning of Islam.

    We just don't like anyone trying to teach about Islam,when they themself don't know much about it, or what they do know about it comes from fox news or something, we are credible folks here (most of us are anyway) and we have experienced racism and hetreated directed at Muslims under the pretext of attacking Islam, and we will not have it.

    I think the problem was that you came across as a self-claimed expert on Islam attempting to preach to the converted.  My disagreement wasn't with your opinions or attitudes towards Islam - many of which I share, but with the factual errors you presented.  When writing an article criticizing Islam it is essential to ensure your facts are correct, or it will be more likely to be dismissed.  Others have asked you to merely chill out not because you came across as angry but bullheaded.

    Agreed.  But unfactual claims do attack the aims of the council, since anything linked with our movement can be dismissed by a doubting muslim as wrong, unless all the facts are straight.

    The best way to help is to be completely honest with the facts even if they don't match your inner ideas on a subject.

    It isn't a question of initiation rites. It's a question of factual content, or at least of perceptions of factual content. You made several statements which were disputed. On an international discussion board this is likely to happen. It isn't, or shouldn't be, regarded as a particularly big deal.

    Are you really serious or just pulling our leg? we can't care aobut "initation" we don't have "rituals" here, we just ask you to be (preferably) a communist! see the councils manifesto. By the way even though I am not a communist, I still believe the council of ex Muslims benefits me hence why I hang around here and would even donate. But as a Capitalist I don't do "donations" the only donations I do is when I am getting kick-backs.

    Just because one is an ex-Muslim, it doesn't mean one will unneccessarily and blindly accept random bits of information with no basis.

    Ah the incompatibility of evil argument.

    this is a really old argument which comes from Epicurus and the time when the Greeks used to be philosophers. If god is omnibenevolent - and he has given us free-will. And created evil for humans as character building. Then how does one explain unnecessary evil. Such as an animal dying in a forest fire. Or a child dying of chronic diarrhea. What are we supposed to learn from this? Or for example, when a tiger or lion hunts and kills is pray humans are not even around the pray has to suffer, how is that teaching us something.

    Moreover, there are also other arguments; such as the infinite regression argument. You can try this at home, get two very flat mirrors facing each other, and this will create an infinite regression of them reflection from one mirror to the other. So how does one explain gods existence? infinite is always 1, plus 1, plus 1. So if god created the universe, who created god and so on...
