  • Best film ever.
     OP - November 27, 2008, 08:21 PM

I've been thinking and thinking and thinking since the Q was first posed.  Shrek is an excrescence compared to the incomparable 'Withnail and I'. If you haven't seen it yet, do it now, for a number 6 bus may get you tomorrow and it'll be too late then.

Willis? Willis? what IFN is that?  WITHNAIL AND I. Withnail is the guy's name. I is the person telling the story. It's the best thing you'll ever see. I'll bet you can't not wet yourself, even when you've seen it 30 times. It has a massive cult following. BTW, it has lots of conspicuous alcohol consumption in it.

Momento was very good and pretty clever.

The majority of Clint Eastwood films are made in pretty way.

Looks very 'feelgood Awais'. I think I've seen it once.
BUT: If you want abounding ambition, Hubris, the mighty fallen, the unexpected, unbearable sexual tension and, not least, the biggest, most savage laugh of your life, then it has to be 'Withnail and I'.

I have to admit at this point that I was almost fatally crippled doing the Cha Cha Cha at a Tory party fund raising do I was hi-jacked into going to and the stupid bastards had sprinkled Daz onto the floor instead of rosin or whatever they're supposed to use.

    What's Yuma?

Anyway, what about favourite Christmas movies?  I like "Some Like It Hot".  I don't know if its really a "Christmas movie", but its always on around Christmas.

YUMA!? You've never heard of Yuma? It's across the Great Divide, in the most inaccessibable part of America.
But yes, anything with MM in is a must.

edit: Let me clarify that, I felt like him in that I was conflicted, extremely conflicted about my identity, living in uncomfortable contradiction.

You should. The Oscars are approaching so I guess that`s why there are quite a few good films out.

I still haven`t seen Milk and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas because they`re not playing here, so I think I`ll illegal them.  signmuahaha

Doubt is another really good film.
