These sentences are woefully inadequate . The caustic soda case is one of the most horrific I've ever heard of , up to nine 'men' were involved , the girl suffered severe burns and had to undergo months of surgery , yet the subhumans responsible smirked and sniggered all through the trial . What I find almost as troubling as the sentences is the fact that these scum were given bail , allowing them the opportunity to harass witnesses . Charges were dropped against one man after people who had identified him suddenly withdrew their statements . The courts need to lock up people accused of such horrific crimes , particularly where there is gang involvement . I understand that some people may dislike the idea of locking up people who haven't yet been convicted ,but the prosecution and conviction rates for rape in this country are so low that there is a very high probability of anyone the CPS actually deigns to prosecute being guilty .
The youths in the recent case in Hackney , where a young girl was dragged around and attacked for a couple of hours , were also bailed - and took the opportunity to harrass the girl and her family ( aided and abbetted by their loving mothers in some cases .. ) . It's bad enough these young girls have to go through this without having to deal with seeing their abusers walking past their houses .
Maybe it makes me a bad person , but I sincerely hope Rogel McMorris and his little buddies all get banged up with 7ft tall , sexually frustrated nazi psychopaths
