This feature is very annoying. Is there any way I can disable it?

Yes, go to your profile:

Look and layout preferences > look down those boxes and tick Return to topics after posting by default.

Thats helps me too, thanks. I noticed i can list also my pms & thread with the latest ones, coming first. Saves me a lot fo time scrolling down each time. If you can, I would make this default to save new users (like me) their teething problems..

I'll look at doing that once I have the upgraded software in place. It's just a matter of re-ordering the preferences in the template. At the moment I have bigger fish to fry.
