    Your opinions Shan and others?

He's an anti-Christ....but not the anti-Christ. Some Muslims believe Obama is the fore-runner of the Mahdi, though. That's kind of interesting.

Well, if he signs a seven-year peace agreement between the mid-east and Israel and Israel is allowed to build her third temple, then I will agree with you....and if he appears to bring hope and peace to the whole world, I will agree with you even more. The first two are the main requisites.

If he did bring peace to the ME- terrific, if Israel was allowed to build her Thrid Temple-I don't care either way and if he brought hope and peace to the world- what better?

I'm sure a lot of us in the world will feel this way, we'd be relieved to see peace, unfortunately Rapture Ready folks like you and your ilk will immediately suspect Obama of being the anti Christ (and Hillary what? a witch?) and might even hamper the whatever peace was possible.

Fortunately there aren't too many of you, or Palin would be in power.
Obama rocks, as do those who voted for him! Ozonedance

Personally, I'm amazed that there are any.   Huh?  I just don't get how anyone over the age of about 6 could believe in such far fetched stuff, and weave such an elaborate set of lies and fantasies around it, when its all based on absolutely nothing.  There's no substance or foundation to any of these beliefs about the anti-Christ and his micro chips and the third temple and all the rest, its just made up in people's heads.

And try showing them evidence that casts doubt on it!  The reaction is usually a bit like this -

This belief about  Anti Christ and Third Temple, also explains part of the new overwhelming friendliness and sympathy some Evangelical Christians (note not all) have acquired for Jews.

The Christians spent two millennia hating Jews simply for the theological reason that Jews hadn't accepted as their Messiah the guy the Christians made their Messiah. Worse, they appeared to have murdered Him! Although its unfair to blame the Jews for that, given Jesus had supposedly come to "die" to save the world, and the Jews' actually helped Him achieve that end, but of course, Medieval Christians were too thick to get that.

This new overwhelming friendliness and love that many Christians profess for Jews and their ardent support for Israel actually has a devious motive behind it- they think building the Third Temple will usher in Christ's Second  Coming- who of course, will send Jews right off to Eternal Torture in Hell! no

Some Christians love the Jewish people, and support Israel, only with the ultimate desire to see Christ come and drag them (and other rabble like Muslims, Hindus, non believers etc) to Eternal Hellfire! Such gleeful anticipation of permanent torture for people you claim to love! Christian Love indeed!  furious

Thats' also why  many of them would be extremely glad to see all Palestinians including babies killed, even if a peaceful solution is possible, for until Isreal flows with blood, Christ won't deign to arrive. So they'd support Israeli illegal settlements and violence, more than many Jews do. evil

Voltaire rightly said, "Those that can get you to believe in absurdities, can get you to commit atrocities."

World renowned historian Will Durant"...the Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex order and freedom can at any moment be overthrown..."

Yep, and as if all that wasn't bad enough, there's an equivalent set of mad men over in Iran waiting for the Mahdi to appear and usher in the return of Isa and Judgement Day, and their myth also seems to involve war between muslims and Jews.

To your Voltaire quote I will add Einstein - "I don't know what kind of weapons World War 3 will be fought with, but World War 4 will be fought with spears and rocks."

"Befriend them not, Oh murtads, and give them neither parrot nor bunny."  - happymurtad's advice on trolls.

Scary, I assume he meant world war 3 was going to be fought with a type of nuclear weapon - although I suppose they weren't around in his day, so his vision was incredible.

Well, I don't know when that quote dates from, but Einstein died in 1955, so he did live to see nuclear weapons used.  His vision was spot on though.

    Cheetah,
I know a very friendly Catholic. Doctorate from Imperial College of London, currently a researcher. He has an amazing hold on Maths, Physics, evolution, astrophysics and Computers.  He will attend all Seminars from Stephen Hawking etc. One of the most helpful and polite person I know. And he believes in second coming of Christ, anti-christ and temple building literally. It just baffles me.

To be fair, he supports two state solution for Palestine issue and opposed Iraq war.

I did not vote McCain/Palin. Sarah Palin is a Charismatic. That means she thinks Christians are to usher in the kingdom of Christ....and rule the world. The bible doesn't say that. It says exactly the opposite.

That's particularly baffling because the Catholics aren't really big into all that End Times jazz.  Only a handful of very strange and usually ill-educated Catholics, in my experience, even take the Revelations book literally.  Tis a bit like some of the ex-muslims here say about taqqiya - they never heard of it till they left Islam.  I never heard any of that crap till I left Catholicism.  Watching The Omen, that's all I knew about the anti-Christ when I was a Catholic.
