    Human Rights aren't reserved to the fullest in S.A.

    If anyone of the authority here in KSA knew about my internet activities attacking Islam, he/she would right away prepare a search warrant and try to arrest me;

    my friend was sued cuz he was chewing gum during a day of Ramadan,

    there are many other example of H.R. violation, can't remember now.

    Great story Emerald.

    What are the consequences now in KSA if it was known you denounced Islam and became an apostate?

    ==============

    I'd be given a 3-day chance to repent and declare my Islam again, otherwise they'd behead me;

    Do they still carry out death penalties for apostasy there? I've been told they stopped it. Has anyone faced the penalty any time recently for apostasy?

    =============

    It's somehow difficult to find one facing such a punishment, because once you denounce your kaffir thoughts, then you're ok.

    Yet, some were given the 3-day chance.

    Has any one continued to announce their atheism after the 3 day chance?

    Will this do?  I have included links to our COEM forum at the bottom, I hope thats ok.

    Council of ex-Muslims of Britain (CEMB)

    Council of ex-Muslims of Britain was launched on Thursday 21 June 2007.

    The Council of ex-Muslims of Britain is part of Central Council of Ex-Muslims in Germany headed by Mina Ahadi and sponsored partly by the British Humanist Association.

    Hanne Stinson, BHA executive director, speaking at the launch, said
    "We know that we are very likely to be criticised for supporting the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain  that we may well be accused of Islamophobia but as far as I am concerned this is not any kind of phobia, it's about human rights: the rights we all have; rights that we should all be defending.

    We all have the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and this includes freedom to change our religion or belief.   If any religious group claims they have the right to stop people leaving their religion, or threatens people who renounce their religion, shouldn't we all be defending this basic human right?

    As a humanist, the last thing I want to do is cause gratuitous offence.   But I believe that if we do not speak out in support of other people's human rights, we all risk losing our rights.   And if some people are offended by what I am saying, so be it.

    The atheists, agnostics and ex-Muslims who are coming together in this new Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain are courageous people.   I salute them.   And I am proud to count myself, and the British Humanist Association, amongst their supporters"

    Below is their manifesto:

    Manifesto of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain

    We, non-believers, atheists, and ex-Muslims, are establishing or joining the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain to insist that no one be pigeonholed as Muslims with culturally relative rights nor deemed to be represented by regressive Islamic organisations and 'Muslim community leaders'.

    Those of us who have come forward with our names and photographs represent countless others who are unable or unwilling to do so because of the threats faced by those considered 'apostates' - punishable by death in countries under Islamic law.

    By doing so, we are breaking the taboo that comes with renouncing Islam but also taking a stand for reason, universal rights and values, and secularism.

    Whilst religion or the lack thereof is a private affair, the increasing intervention of and devastation caused by religion and particularly Islam in contemporary society has necessitated our public renunciation and declaration. We represent a majority in Europe and a vast secular and humanist protest movement in countries like Iran.

    Taking the lead from the Central Council of Ex-Muslims in Germany, we demand:

    Universal rights and equal citizenship for all. We are opposed to cultural relativism and the tolerance of inhuman beliefs, discrimination and abuse in the name of respecting religion or culture.
    Freedom to criticise religion. Prohibition of restrictions on unconditional freedom of criticism and expression using so-called religious 'sanctities'.
    Freedom of religion and atheism.
    Separation of religion from the state and legal and educational system.
    Prohibition of religious customs, rules, ceremonies or activities that are incompatible with or infringe people's rights and freedoms.
    Abolition of all restrictive and repressive cultural and religious customs which hinder and contradict woman's independence, free will and equality. Prohibition of segregation of sexes.
    Prohibition of interference by any authority, family members or relatives, or official authorities in the private lives of women and men and their personal, emotional and sexual relationships and sexuality.
    Protection of children from manipulation and abuse by religion and religious institutions.
    Prohibition of any kind of financial, material or moral support by the state or state institutions to religion and religious activities and institutions.
    Prohibition of all forms of religious intimidation and threats

    Quote
    I feel so sorry and frustrated when I learn that someone converted to Islam, especially those westerners, who do not know much about Islam; who just get the good part of the faith before they embrace it. I feel the same toward Muslims who don't read their history and books; many of them feel that they are confined in a cage. They only need a little push so that they get freed.

    unfortunately you're right about it, I know many womens from Pland, they are married to Muslims from Egypt, Morocco etc and most of them converted, or some are feel pressure from her husbands family ... I feel sorry for them  Cry
    They refuse to listen to ppl who want to help them. It's like they are brainwashed, completely lost, in love in Islam and Mohammed.

    There is so many books about Islam, I wonder if you found truth about Mohammed in any hadith, if so can you give us some example which made you left Islam ?

    I don't believe that Allah and God (from Bible ) are the some person, Mohammed just made a cheep copy of Christianity and Judaism and I head from lots of Christians (copts) that Allah is not the same God.

    I heard some stories from one channel that Muslims who must live in S.A. and are now Christians are pretending to prey as Muslims while they are in mosque, they have to go there, otherwise ppl will figure out that something is wrong ....

    At least I wish you good luck in your new life and hope that you will find the true God, shown in Jesus.

    I find it so ridiculous when some Christian fundies & fanatics try to claim that the God of Islam is not the same God of Christianity or Judaism.

    Islam is so clearly derived from the same roots and the same bloodthirsty tyrant in the Bible - you have to be blind or completely stupid not to see it.

    I understand your point, yes I asked me the same question many times, but I can't see anything wrong with Jesus, he has no sinner, opposite to Mohammed and he really gives his life for all human, even Muslims.  I believe that we are all searching and longeing after something, love, God, anything who can feel our soul with love, and I feel only love while I'm reading my NT, all words from Jesus. When I'm reading about Islam, I can't feel any joy, love, there is no soul, just command... I read lots about Islam, and I feel depressed now, honestly maybe I care to much about it.  I just worried about Muslims who are very poor, can't write, can't read, radial Muslim can really use them, for ex. S.A. wahabists are paying Egyptians Muslims for wearing hijab, mostly of them are poor and need some money to buy bread. I was in Alexandia and saw that all women are wearing hijab, niqab is very popular too.  I meet one Muslim from Indonesia, and I just asked him about Aisha - he walked away from me, very sad, I had no idea that he had no clue that Aisha was only 9-years old when Mohammed married her so I understood that many important facts about prophets life are hiding.  Jesus said -"Let the little children come to me, and stop keeping them away, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these." Mattew 19:14
    Aisha still preyed with the dolls, which humility Mohammed shows for the little girl  lipsrsealed It's just example, can you understand me, if you are comparing Jesus and Mohammed you cant miss that we are talking about two very, very different persons.

    Muslims dont see all the negative sides of their religion.  Your so called God of Love also commanded the extermination of the Canaanites?  Dont you see you are as equally brainwashed, but nojne of you can see it - funny that isn't it.

    If I believed in an invisible being, told you it created me, looked after me and made me happy, without any evidence I would be equally guilty of being brainwashed.  Just like you, and the rest of your religious brethren.

    I really don't care what you thing about this, go to any Christian from middle east, which are grow up with muslims, they are forcing to read Koran in the schools every morning, Muslims don't respect theirs faith. I know very well about the roots you're referring to, Adam,  Abraham, Moses etc we are all came from the same prophets, I mean it doesn't prove that Allah and God is the same God. It's not the first time I read comet like yours.  I don't care what Koran says about MY God, because God from Koran is Mohammeds God, not mine, GOT IT Huh? It's true, that in the old testament God was not so nice, not always, he treated us like a slaves, but it was loooooooong before Jesus, came to us, and if you read the whole bible you will see that He planed to came to us, and show through Jesus that He loves us. Yes, I truly believe that when Jesus came to us, everything has changed, and I don't think our poor brains can ever understand God, even if Jesus will came here to us today you probably will laugh at him like you do now.  I'm not blind nor deaf.

    No, but nor are muslims who believe in their religion.  The ones who left did so because they put their faith under critical analysis.  If you did the same with yours you would find as many short comings as they did, they would be different short comings and Jesus was obviously nicer than Muhammed, but that doesn't make Christianity any truer than Islam.  They're both man made.

    So your saying because you think Christianity is better than Islam, then it must be true?  Or that because Jesus was such a nice guy, then he must be a prophet of God?

    You may not be blind or deaf, its the brain department I am more concerned about.

    ?On the occasion of Eid, either that of sacrifice or that of ending the fast, the Prophet, peace be upon him, went to the prayer place, and then went to speak to women and he said: ?Ladies! I have not seen people deficient in mind and religion yet can get away with a rational man?s mind like any one of you.? They asked: ?How are we deficient in mind and religion, Messenger of God?? He said: ?Is it not true that a woman?s testimony counts as half that of a man?? When they answered in the affirmative, he said: ?This is her mental deficiency. Is it not true that when a woman is in her period she neither prays nor fasts?? They again answered in the affirmative. He said: ?This is her religious deficiency.? I have hardly come across a muslim, or had a debate with one, since I joined here and its an ex-muslim site.  Where are they - dont they have issues with some of contentious things said?

I don't believe that Christianity is only way to the God, the truth, there is many ways to God, some choose left, right ... I don't mind if you are believe in Holly Cow, or else... I do believe that God loves everyone, even those who don't believe in Him. The problem is only ppl, mostly of Christians don't know so much Christianity, they say they believe in God, but don't know Him, I know because I European, and it's very hard to speak about religion here, mostly of them don't care. I'm not fanatic, actually I'm tiring to have some distance keep some balance in my life, but I'm spiritual person, and I feel emptiness in my heart without feeling love. It's sad that you see that you hate God, but I can't blame you. I had really hard life, won't bother you with my story, but never accused God for all things witch turned bad for me. In my heart I know, whatever hapends in my life, I have only my self to blame.

    One more thing, all ppl I know are atheist, or agnostic, I have very few Christians friends, and I never thought in my life that I'm better because I'm Christian, oh NO, many times I think they are much better then me. I'm only human, I have same troubles, the same tasks, sorrows, joys etc ... I like even Buddha, seriously, why I should thing I'm better or Christianity own the truth Huh? Christianity suites me, but don't need suite anyone.
