Actually. I am not doing anything. I just emailed the clown and asked him if he knew how to read and understand in Arabic and he was decent enough to confirm that he does not understand Arabic. Like many others, he bases his silly contradictions on various translations, when he cannot understand.

Contradiction: 3:97, 35:15 say Allah does not need mankind and the jinns; He is free of all want.

This is not a contradiction. Existence of Allah is independent of human and jinn, a Muslim is free not to pray, Allah is not dependent upon his praying. It is Muslim who shpould pray if he wants Jannah.

Contradiction in Quran should focus upon opposite message in Meccan and Madina suras. Just taking lines, without going through tafsir, makes the attemt laughable. Personally I find medssage of Quran pretty consistent.

+1. Which is why I found Atheist/Christian attempts to "refute" the Qur'an so hard to follow, they didn't read carefully enough to see what they were saying was weak . If you're going to "refute" something, you should do so on strength, and not flimsiness .

Thanks Baig. So you're saying that my method of compiling a list of native Arabic speakers and bothering them to within an inch of their sanity via PM is not the best strategy for understanding the Quran then? *adds Baig to the list*

Also, what's with the translators using old english? I seriously hate reading it...it's so tiring lol

Pickthall's Koran is written in Ye Olde English, Sarwar translation in 1981 is more readable being in Plain English.

I nominated Hilali Khan because their Koran was written with annotations from Tabari and Ibn Kathir to help explain the verses. It cuts to the point much more clearly.

I prefer Yusuf Ali, footnotes, poetry and all. I find Hilali-Khan so hard to read now, stupid commas.
