There seems to be many similarities, what do you think?

World renowned historian Will Durant"...the Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex order and freedom can at any moment be overthrown..."

There are also things that aren't the same, and really both are pretty basic things that make sense in the context of the society they came from. I'll bet you could find similar things in religious texts that are obviously not related.

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

True, but a huge % of the Earth ie the Jews, Muslims and Christians believe that the 10 Commandments came directly from God, while ancient Egyptians, were a wicked idolatrous culture enslaving poor Jews.

Its important that the Papyrus of Ani is older as well as has some better provisions:

    1) There's nothing against worshipping the neighbouring Mesopotemian gods, so the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses weren't jealous!  Wink
    2) There's a bit about kindness to animals too.
    3) Instead of lusting after neighbour's wife or goods, which makes neighbour's wife seem like neighbour's possession, there's a gender neutral statement about not copulating unchastely.
    4) No prohibition on working on the Sabbath, so somewhat recognized the rights of atheists or apatheists. Wink

Guess the heathen gods\esses were pretty good and humane lawmakers! 13

In general polytheisms tend to be more tolerant of extra deities. When you already have a hundred gods what's the big deal about a few more? On the other hand monotheisms have the one true god so.............................

Which is why it eludes me why so many people just accept the monotheist claim on face value.

"Ask the slave girl; she will tell you the truth.' So the Apostle called Burayra to ask her. Ali got up and gave her a violent beating first, saying, 'Tell the Apostle the truth.'"
