    This is not about venting disgust Hassan, this is about calling a spade a spade. I have previously stated that avoiding the label "pedophile" for diplomatic reasons can be acceptable, but denying a simple fact so as not to "alienate Muslims" is outright dishonest.

    Mohammad's pedophilia is a very valid criticism of Islam.

    No details but I'm already doing my fair share of political activism, working with secularists, etc.

    Bwhahahahaha! This is the internet, brother-- what do you think? Smiley The vast majority of people on ANY internet forum who profess to be "fighting for" or "fighting against" this or that thing are just a bunch of cranks whining online who's activism rarely goes beyond their keyboard, and when it does, is completely ineffectual or even counterproductive. This seems to be universally true, regardless of the belief system of the person posting. Not to say there aren't any people online who are making a difference in the real world, but speaking for myself, these forums are just a place to satisfy some intellectual curiosity, flex my brain and debating skills a bit and otherwise shoot the shit/kill time.

    It's easy to become overwhelmed by the scale of the problem, but that fact is that individuals always make the choice to follow a man like Muhammad. You can convince them 1 by 1 with these polemics, and yes, I've seem some defenders of Islam become convinced.

    No, in that regard, I have done absolutely nothing. Well, maybe that's not entirely true, I did bring some union brothers and sisters to an event with Iraqi union activists/IFC members. But other than that, no.

    A couple of things to keep in mind when discussing stuff with me...

    1) I really don't care much what people I encounter online are doing offline unless it involves giving me money or a BJ. As I said above, I'm just here to shoot the shit.

    2) I was born with a very specific and rare birth defect that prevents me from feeling shame for the most part, especially amongst people who are not family or close friends. Smiley

    Mohammed's paedophilia is like any other subject which can cause offense, hurt, denial, etc to other people.  IOW, it depends how it is approached - sure you can behave like an idiot running round shouting about paedo Mo, but if you get any response at all it will just turn into a slanging match.  Or you can take the cowardly route and not mention it at all, because its a "sensitive" subject.  Or you can approach it in a calm, rational and diplomatic manner, and if your listener is intelligent and honest you will get through to him.  I've come across several ex-muslims who quoted that as one of the reasons, (although not the only one),  which gave them second thoughts about their religion.  For example.....

    Yes, and I have always said it is an important subject as regards Islam's claim that Muhammad is the perfect example for all time and all places.

    But like you say it should be raised intelligently.

    There's this hadith in Sahih Bukhari, the most famous collection of hadiths.
    Volume 7, Book 62, Number 16:

    Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah:

    While we were returning from a Ghazwa (Holy Battle) with the Prophet, I started driving my camel fast, as it was a lazy camel A rider came behind me and pricked my camel with a spear he had with him, and then my camel started running as fast as the best camel you may see. Behold! The rider was the Prophet himself. He said, 'What makes you in such a hurry?" I replied, I am newly married " He said, "Did you marry a virgin or a matron? I replied, "A matron." He said, "Why didn't you marry a young girl so that you may play with her and she with you?"

    Why did Mohammed even recommend virgin girls rather than matrons, the benefit of marrying a "virgin" being that she might play with him? This language is slightly disturbing to say the least.  Tongue

    Many of our criticisms of Islam are based on information gleaned from narrations where the important information was only tangential to the topic. Ibn Kathir's commentary about dolls and puberty is another example.

    In fact the Koran mentions sexual relations with pre-pubescent wives just in passing.

    This kind of harmful behaviour was normalized for Muhammad and his companions, so they didn't make a big deal out of it.

    Bukhari book 62 (Kitab an-Nikah) number 16 has the "shaving" story, no. 17 is more to the point and just says:

I replied, "I have married a matron' He said, "Why, don't you have a liking for the virgins and for fondling them?"     That's because there aren't many if any on this forum. Arab-Wannabee is a troll  who only likes playing games. BMZ should be ashamed to show his face, and I can't think of many others. Oh yeah, King Tut is in damnation.

    When I knew AW as bloodcrazedmuslim (FFI forum), he struck me as being a decent guy... although he was always more focused on the treatment and image of Muslims than the teachings of Islam. And yeah, we don't have many Muslims here, although I saw some newcomers to FFI today.

    Yep that's the problem with debating online, no matter how convincing your argument is, many will always blindly ignore you as misguided or hateful.

    Plus you can't really debate in real life due to other reasons.

    Sometimes I think it's futile to care.

When we were about to enter (Medina), the Prophet said, "Wait so that you may enter (Medina) at night so that the lady of unkempt hair may comb her hair and the one whose husband has been absent may shave her pubic region.


    Did you miss out a part of that hadith? The one I read didn't mention that bold bit, mine carried on from the question asked before the bold bit.


    I didn't miss out, I was hesitant because of the soft porn nature of this part. I also didn't get what it meant when I read this about a year back...

    In that case there is a separate hadith very similar to that but with a different ending. And don't worry about soft porn, I've posted much worse than that quite openly on here before Tongue
